About Me
Hi, my name is Patrick. I've studied piano since age 10 (classical, and more recently jazz) and even at that age I would write my own songs and compositions. I started studying music theory in high school 6 years ago. This has informed my study of composition, as well as every instrumental practice undertaken since that time. 5 years ago I took my banjo to Sarah Lawrence College and started learning to play. I quickly joined the school's Bluegrass Ensemble, which fast-tracked my practice and enhanced my understanding of the idiom. My compositions, arrangements, and performances have appeared in theatre productions (Hartford Stage, Manhattan Theatre Source), several student films and dance pieces, and at music venues in New York (Carnegie Hall, Goodbye Blue Monday). For the past year I've been working with children at the Sarah Lawrence Early Childhood Center, and most recently at MoonSoup, an early childhood center in midtown Manhattan.
