I would first like to say that I was born into a musical family. My Dad (choir director) and five older brothers were not only the majority of the choir in our large Catholic church, but Dad had a "tame" Frank Sinatra singing style. My mother played harmonica and piano by ear so acquiring musical intellects spread quickly to all of us. Most of my siblings sang and played instruments as we had a piano, guitar, organ, harmonica, trumpet, clarinet and a recorder to use as we pleased, with or without a music teacher.
I started singing and playing the piano at age four, With consistent encouragement from my oldest sister (a professional organist for 40+ years), I learned piano and music theory while I was learning to read English, started guitar at eight. A natural born singer, I learned the basics of voice while in choir from middle school through high school while accompanying myself on piano or guitar when singing privately or for others. I wrote my first song at 17 and worked my way through college playing original music in coffee shops while earning my bachelors degree. After college, I started touring across the US (this was long before American Idol and the Internet when if you wanted to make it, you had to "pay your dues" on the road first). Working in the studio was always the most fun and challenging, my first original song got air play in 1990 (this was before CDs).
I received international distribution of my original music starting 2004; however, around that time I learned that performing was not my preferred way of providing service to others - teaching then become my passion. So while working for a local public school district as substitute teacher for general music classes (orchestra, band, choir as well), I was asked to write and teach a beginning songwriting class. From the very first day I had kids' attention wherever I went; and some of those students eventually recorded their own songs in studios.
After 30+ years of professional musicianship spanning across two continents (US and Germany) with originally produced music available on iTunes and two CDs on the market, I have found a unique way of teaching music to others. I most enjoy teaching families with two or more siblings (along with parents, grandparents, etc.) that want to learn to play a variety of instruments and music together.

Being born into a highly musical family, I have been involved in music my whole life. By the age of about 13, I began giving lessons to my friends and peers, from classical to contemporary styles. Since then I’ve had a passion for helping others develop their own musical voice, and in return it helps me examine my own playing and teaching techniques. Throughout grade school and beyond, I’ve played and performed with several bands ranging in a wide variety of music including blues, country, folk, classic rock and heavy metal. In the fall of 2008 I began to intensively involve myself in the art and life which is classical guitar. Working on technique and interpretation became a large part of my practice schedule and life. Building up my classical repertoire from all time periods including Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and styles such as Jazz and Flamenco, I began performing at school recitals, competitions, public/private parties, and hard rock/metal shows around DFW and throughout Texas. I've placed in top 3 in several international competitions for solo guitar, duets and small ensembles. I try my best to always live through music, and in return music lives through me.

Kelsey T. is a composer of music for quartet, string ensembles, piano, guitar, and chorus. While studying music at the University of North Texas, Kelsey was classically trained to play guitar and piano, while performing in the Men's Chorus. His piece "Colors" (2010) for string quartet & piano became a point of interest in the writing of "161 Glass: Site Specific Music in an Artistic Context" by Christina Rusnak, Composer and Executive Director of Philadelphia's award winning ensemble, Orchestra 2001. Having been influenced by the musical works of Reich, Glass, and Xenakis, Kelsey's composition style is attributed to his interdisciplinary study of Music & Architecture. Today, he continues his work as a music teacher, contemporary composer, and as an architectural drafter for various architects in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.
