Dear aspiring singers (pianists see below): I firmly believe that with the right training, anyone can sing! We all have the instrument built-in after all! Are you tone deaf? I can fix that. Crack on high notes? I can fix that. Nasal? Hoarse? Can't hold long notes? All of these are common vocal problems that can be easily be solved through guidance and practice. Trust me, no one ever regretted taking voice lessons!
For my piano friends: How often do you sit down at a piano and wish you could just place your hands on the piano and magically create beautiful music? Piano is a challenging skill, but certainly not impossible. Learning to play the piano, even if it's never mastered, is such an incredible joy. Learning piano helps you to improve so many other skills as well, such as singing, any other instrument, and even math!
About Me: After completing my Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at North Park University in Chicago, I moved here to NYC in 2010 to pursue my loves of music, acting, and education. Currently, I work as a Teaching Artist through Wingspan Arts, act in short films, and sing in concerts, operas, and musical theater productions around the city. I have been teaching acting, modeling, voice, and piano to children and adults of all ages for the last seven years. My goal is to professionally fuse my passion for music, theater, and education while continuing to learn, grow, and share the beauty and magic of the arts with others.
In my free time I enjoy movies, Broadway shows, cooking, and exploring all the delicious wonders New York City has to offer! I miss Chicago pizza, but NYC sure knows its way around a cupcake!

Most notably, Debbie Boily's "Thank You for the Music"a one woman show with me at the piano, recorded live at Ovations in June 2004 Houston, Texas and subsequently performed in France, England and New York. Most recently, I recorded an opera with Jazz legend Anthony Braxton and an all Jazz CD with Fred Ho. I started my musical training as a pianist at YAMAHA institute at age 4 in Japan. I was selected to enter perfect pitch class. It was designated for students who have perfect pitch and potentials to be professional musicians.
I enjoyed playing piano and electric piano and won the 1st prize at Kitakantou Electric Piano Competition hosted by YAMAHA institute. Because of the intensive training, I have been accompanying my students' recitals and performance exams.
As much as I enjoyed playing piano, I discovered that I also love singing, so I started to take singing lessons and majored in vocal performance during my college days.
Since I have graduated, I have been performing opera professionally. Some of the roles that I have performed include Pamina in Mozart's Magic flute with Manhattan Opera Studio, Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen with One World Symphony, Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Clorinda in Rossini's La Cenerentola with Capitol Heights Opera, Alice in Rossini's Le comte Ory with West Side Opera Society, Adele in J.Strauss's Die Fledermaus,Susanna in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Avanti, Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto with Academie Internationale d'ete de Nice, Novice in Puccini's Suor Angelica with The Eastern Festival Opera and La Cercatoricia in Puccini's Suor Angelica and the first spirit in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte with Opera Company of Brooklyn.
My media exposures include presenting myself as an aspiring opera singer on the website of Maybeline New York. My voice was featured for three short films for NEC computer company, Japan. I was selected as a finalist of Arkadi Foundation's Opera Idol Competition at Merkin Hall, Lincoln Center, New York City and interviewed by Jewish Weekly News Television as a featured finalist for The Arkadi Foundation Opera Idol Competition. I will sing as a Soprano Soloist of a film project TAKEABITE the Opera directed by Mr. David Antonio Cruz, November 2013 at El Museo Del Barrio, NYC.
My international credits include Academie Interanationale d'ete de Nice, France, Daniel Ferro Vocal Program in Chianti, Italy, International Vocal Arts Institute(IVAI)in Tel Aviv, Israel and Young Artist Concert Series in Japan. I was selected as a finalist of Hariclea Darclée International Voice Competition, Bralia, Romania in August 2012.
Besides being an opera singer, I have been teaching piano and voice for 9 years and would like to share my skills and experience with you. Since I perform often, I can coach you how to perform on stage in addition to building solid technique and languages. Also, I have taught various kinds of music, such as Rock, Broadway musicals, Pop music, so we can work on all kind of music.

Hello! I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music, with a Bachelor’s degree in Writing and Production. I am attending NYU as a graduate student at Steinhardt. I have been teaching privately for over ten years, and performing for over 20!
My first love is piano, as I began lessons at age 7. I wrote my first song at age 8 and started playing guitar the next year. I am an accomplished songwriter, arranger, producer, performer, teacher and director. I recently moved here from Boston where I was the Music Director at All Souls Church in Braintree, MA and performed jazz/blues, funk, and kid's music. I love teaching and excel at finding unique ways to teach music and keep it interesting! I want you to have fun and learn what you find most interesting so we will work together to reach your goals.
Along with instrument and vocal lessons, I offer tutoring in all subjects of music and songwriting, and specialize in offering lessons tailored to each student’s needs. I refuse to hand out a book and go from front to back - expect handouts, impromptu lesson material to help you learn any specific concept you may be struggling with, CD’s with study material, exploratory homework, and thinking outside the box! We will do whatever it takes to get you wherever you want to be.
