We will work together to learn and understand the fundamentals of piano and violin technique and theory at you own pace. No pressure and stress-free instruction.
Along with learning to play an instrument, research shows that you may have improvements in memory, language skills, ability to store audio information, discipline, ability for being attentive and planning, day to day actions such as being alert, motor skills, hearing, emotional perception (pick out exactly what others are feeling just by the tone of their voices; empathy, disappointment, etc.)
Music has always been a part of my education since my elementary school years. I continued private training throughout college, as well as after. I have my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston - Clear Lake, as well as my Life Coaching certification from The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. And I am always continuing to develop my musical skills.
Our time together is more than just about learning an instrument; it's about life improvements and developing the self!
I will encourage you, cheer you on, and support you in the way you need support to achieve your goals in piano!

Kal was born in New York and began studying piano and then added cello in elementary school. Kal's vast knowledge of the piano and cello repertoire helps his students have fun playing because there is no shortage of wonderful selections to play.
When Kal was in high school, piano performance was always paramount. In addition, Kal studied cello with Nellis DeLay-Harvout, principal cellist of the New York City Ballet Orchestra and sister of the world renown and distinguished Julliard school of Music violin instructor Dorothy DeLay. During high school, Kal played cello in the school orchestra as well as the all county and all state orchestras. Kal also gave cello recital performances with veteran concert pianist Gloria Carney, who was the accompanist of the legendary cellist Leonard Rose.
Kal graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in Music Theory and Composition and concentrated in piano and cello performance. Kal introduced his own compositions in both piano solo and chamber music, playing the cello part. Kal also played in the college orchestral
Currently, Kal teaches piano and cello. Kal has a unique ability to select pieces that are tailored to the musical preference of the student. He will suggest classical (baroque, classical, romantic, and modern periods), show tunes, Ragtime, Blues, Hymns, Rock, and other pieces that fit the technical level and interest of the student.
Kal believes that teaching, especially beginners, is an honor. Music is his passion and teaching young students how to read music in all clefs, obtain proper technique and, learn how to make the music come alive (once the technical challenges have been mastered) through music interpretation is one of the greatest rewards in life.
Kal also serves on the Advisory Board for the Houston Piano Company.

Hello and welcome! I currently offer lessons for Guitar, Voice, Piano, and Music Production.
Music is my passion. It's one of those great things in the world that you wouldn't want to be with out.
During my journey with the guitar I have had a chance to study with virtuoso players such as Paul Gilbert, Chris Broderick, Dan Gilbert, and some of the top guitarists and musicians in the business. I have recorded with Doug Pinnick from Kings X and have played with one of the biggest Christian bands in Los Angeles playing for thousands of people as a member of "Press Play."
In addition, I hold a degree from one of the best contemporary guitar schools in the world. At Musicians institute I had a wonderful opportunity to study and play with some of the best teachers and students learning every style of music. It was one of the most musically enriching experiences! I have produced and worked on projects for members of Melissa Ethridge as well as mixing projects for jazz virtuoso Marcus Singletary, and many more. I have over ten years teaching experience giving lessons to beginners to professional musicians. Currently I work in a band, compose music for television and film, and teach music! I am looking forward to the next aspiring student who would like to take their musicianship to the next level!
