I've been teaching private lessons for over a decade now. First I taught lessons as a self-employed college student, and then my during graduate studies I worked through a music academy in Dallas. I've been playing piano for over 20 years and guitar and drums for 15. I've been in various bands, personally recorded several albums of my own compositions, and have taught students from ages 7-17 consistently. I teach part time as a high school teacher in the area and I enjoy helping young people learn, whether it's guitar, piano, drums, or even psychology

Are you ready to rock? I've been playing for well over thirty years, and teaching (as well as performing professionally) for more than twenty years. My primary focus is on rock guitar, but I also play and teach other styles, like country, blues, funk, reggae, and more. Some of the techniques we can work on include alternate, hybrid, and sweep picking, also tapping, slide guitar, and whammy bar tricks. I can help you learn the THEORY great players use to play their solos, including chords, scales, arpeggios, and understanding how to use the modes. I am also very experienced in getting absolute beginners started, of all ages (I have taught students ranging in age from 7 years old, to mature adults).
Many years of professional playing, across the country as well as abroad, combined with my knack for breaking down and explaining guitar technique, enables me to offer an effective, as well as fun method of learning the instrument.
Lessons are tailored to each student, with the priority being learning music YOU like, to keep you interested and ready to advance. You can learn to read music, but it's not mandatory (I encourage it, but you can still become a great player without it). If you just want to learn your favorite songs, or get started learning what it takes to shred on the guitar, we can do that.
I'm also experienced with studio and composition work (I composed and produced a bunch of instrumental rock and techno tracks for "Digital Juice", a big time ...
