Hi, my name is Pierre. I have enjoyed the music business for more than 30 years. My music education includes studies at the Swiss Jazz School in Switzerland and the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

I have been a music coach in Switzerland, in Los Angeles, in Long Beach, and since 2009 in the Mission Viejo area. During the 2009 / 2010 school year I was a music coach for the Saddleback Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) in South Orange County. I have also been a member of numerous groups, including Original bands, Top40, Tribute, Recording and Performing bands. Please do not hesitate to ask for references!

I have been teaching adult, high school, middle school, and elementary school students both privately and in the public school system since 1999. I have taught at Laguna Beach High School, El Toro High School, and currently at Laguna Hills High School. I've also taught at La Paz Intermediate School and Mater Dei Music Academy.

Hello, My name is Cort and I love to teach music. I am currently taking on more students for the following instruments: Guitar, Drums, Bass. I have successfully instructed students from age 5 - 65 and gain tremendous satisfaction from helping my students achieve their goals of learning an instrument and/or progressing to a greater ability on their instrument. I have been a drummer for 25 years. I have been playing, writing and teaching percussion professionally for 15 years now. I attended Valencia high school in Placentia, California and was immediately hired to teach drums there after graduating. I have also attended the Los Angeles Music Academy, studying under drum legends Ralph Humphrey and Joe Porcaro.

I have taught at over 15 different institutions ranging from middle school, high school, youth band and drum corps. I have also taught hundreds of private lessons. Other teachers of mine include: Tom Float, Mark Schulman, Phil Mortensen, Sherman Ferguson, Alan Waddington, Mike Packer, Mike Shapiro, Poncho Sanchez, Pete Sapadin and David Beyer.

I absolutely love to teach, but not just because of my love for the drums or my life-long appreciation of music, but because of my enjoyment of people and the learning process itself. I feel that this is important to mention, because if I didn’t enjoy what I did and take pride in working with people, then my teaching skills, curriculum, and experience would mean nothing. As anybody who has played a musical instrument can attest to, learning something new is difficult, and having a patient teacher who enjoys working with people is mandatory.

My name is Jason, and I'm a music/percussion/composition major at Cypress College. But lets try not to be so formal (that's what all the information below is for). In reality, I'm just an experienced drummer/percussionist who's looking to take on a few students to help and teach, and have some fun along the way. Not to say I can't be professional and formal when necessary, but that's not how I am all the time. In reality, I'm a rather laid back guy who loves teaching, drum set and other forms of percussion especially, and I'm looking for students who range from laid back, casual/ recreational players, who just want to get better so as to help express themselves throw their music, to more devoted, intensely involved players who seek training as a means to help advance themselves, and gain a professional status in their music and be as successful as they can possibly be, because, simply put, they love music, as well as everything in between.

I bring a dynamic and multifaceted perspective to the creative exploration of the percussive arts, with over 40 years of diverse musical experience which includes performing with Nigerian master drummer Francis Awe’s Talking Drum Ensemble, competing to top international honors with the Misty Isle Pipe Band, ensembles large and small covering music in a wide range of genres, as well as extended experience in solo accompaniment for modern dance and performance art. I have performed with renowned musicians such as Dave Holland, Albert Mangelsdorf, Bobby Bradford, Fred Katz, Lee Konitz, Don Thompson, Ralph Alessi, Vinny Golia, Karl Denson, Kei Akagi, among many others.

I grew up in Quebec City Canada, where I only spoke French during those growing years. From a very young age, I was always attracted to music and particularly playing drums. My mom has told me that before I could even walk, I was already banging away on whatever I could put my hands on. I would sit down with pots, pans, and spoons and bang away. My parents bought my first “real” drum kit when I was about five years old. It was a Mickey Mouse drum set that they ordered from the Sears catalog. I was ecstatic. Unfortunately, because of the poor quality of the drum, this particular kit only lasted a couple months, but it was on that very drum kit that I gave my first live performance. The concert took place in the basement of my house. This memorable concert included one song, a French version of California dreaming, with me on drums, my brother on guitar and my sister as a singer. The crowd (one uncle and our mom) loved it and saw the potential in what could be a career someday!...

Since graduating from the Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT) in 1989 I have given over 12,000 private lessons to students of all ages!! I have recorded several albums, toured around the globe and taught at drumming events across the country.

I teach all styles of contemporary drum set and marching snare drum.

In 2010, I was named "Educator of the Year" by the drumming web site "United Groove Workers".

I am a member of the Vic Firth Education Team and The Professional Drum Teachers Guild. I am endorsed by Vic Firth Drum Sticks and Supernatural Cymbals.

I am experienced with special needs students (autism, down syndrome) and children as young as 4 years old.
