Often times students want to learn more than one style on guitar and I encourage this. If you want to be a serious classical musician, I am not the teacher for you and I can refer you to one who is. But if you want to access certain pieces you love or want to simply explore classical guitar, that is terrific and I have great pieces for this.
I hold a Music and English degree from Hamline University, but that doesn't make me a good teacher. I've played professionally for over 25 years, have taught English as a Second Language, Hockey and Audio Engineering, taught people age 5 to 75, and have taught private music lessons full time in Minneapolis for the past 9 years, but this doesn't make me a good teacher. What makes me a good teacher is that I have an infectious love of music and a passionate commitment to helping people. I do have specialties, like helping singer/songwriters develop their lyrics, arrangements, voice, and performance as well as helping artists get through creativity blocks, stage fright and preparing for studio recording. My experience as a producer, studio musician and audio engineer has allowed me to ...
I teach classical guitar, using Duncan method books and other pertinent books with great classical solos
I studied voice at McPhail Center for the Arts in high school. I studied piano, voice, guitar at Augsburg college. I performed in musicals, small ensembles. I write my own music and have performed it around town for years. I have sung in bands and solo. I recorded two CD's with my original music. My original songs are eclectic and contain jazz, blues, folk, country, and soft rock songs. I love music theory and writing. I taught at Mars music until it closed, then taught at Minnesota School of Music for a couple of years. Then moved my students to my home, where I have been teaching for the last ten years. I teach all ages. My piano students perform in music auditions like "The Guild", my guitar students have performed in school concerts and talent shows, my vocal students ...
I've been playing classical guitar for 7 years & have performed hundreds of classical pieces for different events, ranging from concert halls to dinner parties to receptions for big businesses.

I have been playing professionally & teaching for over a decade. My passion for music is something that I love to share with anyone else who feels inclined to make music. My goal is to share the skills & knowledge I've acquired throughout my experiences

I have been teaching guitar since 2004. I focus on proper technique, while exploring ear training and good balanced sound. I basically want to make sure the student has fun and enjoys the experience of learning and playing, while developing their skills on guitar.

Currently I am studying classical guitar at my university (North Central University), but have also had plenty experience in jazz, folk, rock, funk, metal, pop, and other genres. I am primarily a guitarist, but my piano, drum, and other musical experiences have also given me great interest in theory and composition. I enjoy getting to know my students and letting them achieve their own goals in lessons, as well as setting my own goals according to their skill and effort to help them grow. My schedule is relatively flexible, if you don't see a time that works for you, feel free to contact me to see if an alternate time might work.
