I believe performing is an important part of music learning, so I schedule at least 2 recitals each year. Some of my adults prefer not to perform and that is okay too. My students had a Halloween and Christmas recital this fall and played so wonderfully! The more you perform, the easier it gets!

I am a 2008 graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree. While at North Texas I taught trumpet lessons in the Denton area for five years. I have also taught piano, flute, clarinet, and saxophone as well as all the other brass instruments. I have performed with the UNT Concert Band, the UNT Brass Band, the UNT Nine O'Clock Lab Band, the Collin County Jazz Band, and the San Jose Metropolitan Band.

Currently, I teach clarinet, trumpet and piano in the DFW area. I also play percussion and french horn in the Frisco Community Band, french horn with the Frisco Community Brass Ensemble, and I conduct the Frisco Community Herald Trumpets.

Holding a BA in music and equipped with time proven methods for learning the guitar, I offer lessons to the north Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I specialize in the classical guitar; however, I also have 10 years of experience playing rock, blues, folk, and alternative styles with electric and acoustic guitars. I can teach you or your child the skills needed to pursue hobbies or serious musical goals! E.g. personal enjoyment, gigs, performances, recitals, university auditions, etc. The list goes on and on! I want to inspire you to continue learning music for the rest of your life.

I am a student myself, going through my senior year as a music major at the University of North Texas in Denton. I've been playing the guitar for 8 years but pursuing music for even longer. I taught guitar lessons for 2 years in high school to all ages, and have worked at Camp Jam for 2 summers during my college career, teaching young kids to play in rock bands. I took composing classes and lessons and advanced classical guitar in college, and I also play the piano and the cello, so I've been going to private lessons all my life and know what students are looking for. Students will benefit from my ability to relate to their musical goals and aspirations since I myself am still somewhat of a student. In my free time I play guitar with my musician friends, and I also write my own songs because I'm a composer at heart. I love to pass on everything I know about music to others who want to express themselves with an instrument, and my goal as a teacher is to get everyone to that level.

I have been seen all across the DFW area because of one thing... My skill!!! I am currently endorsed by Spaun Drum Company as well as Silver Fox drumsticks! I am ready to give you what it takes to live your musical dream. I have played and performed many shows as well as competed in many music events. I can teach all styles of music from jazz to metal.

The one thing I love about teaching is seeing the student actually get it! There will be so many hours put into learning there instrument and let me tell you, it gets frustrating for the student.. But when that student actually gets the fundamentals of there instrument, I feel like I have done my job. I love music because you can communicate through it. You decide what you want it to say, my job is to teach you HOW to communicate...

My own love for piano started when I began taking lessons at three years old, and I've been addicted ever since. I've been truly fortunate to study under several highly talented concert pianists and professors who were not only exceptional musicians, but exceptional teachers as well. I love learning, and I love sharing how to learn. I began as a self-taught pianist at age 12, and from ages 14 to the present I have had the experience of studying with some of the most phenomenal teachers of this generation. George Katz, former chair of the Drake University Piano Department and student of the legendary artists Alfred Cortot and Marguerite Long; Jerome Lowenthal, also a student of Cortot (and William Kapell) and former chair of the Julliard piano department, and Jose Feghali, winner of the 1985 Cliburn Gold Medal have been my most influential teachers. From them, I learned how to learn, how to teach, and how to teach learning, which I believe is the most important skill.

As a winner of the 2000 Interlochen Concerto Competition, I had my orchestral debut that year with the World Youth Symphony Orchestra at 16. Following that, I have given concerts all over the U.S., some parts of Mexico, Malmo and Stockholm, Sweden, and in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Jason T. started his illustrious performing career at the tender age of five in day camp volunteering to sing “The Happy Wanderer” a capella for Parent’s Day.

Mounting productions in his garage as a child, he convinced his friends to be in the show with only his father as a reluctant audience member who was toiling away at his work bench. Combine these garage productions with performances on the back patio and it was clear Jason always loved to put on a show.

In the sixth grade, he performed “The Impossible Dream” from “Man of La Mancha” with his red cape pinned to his shirt and wielding his mighty sword assembled from a yard stick and tin foil. At this point, his career in entertainment was firmly embedded in his heart and soul.

Double majoring in Vocal Performance and Education in college, Jason honed his craft performing in operas and jazz vocal groups all the while learning the business side of entertainment.
