I began acting in community theatre when I was seventeen years old. It is something that I am absolutely passionate about. I have been fortunate enough to play some of the characters that I love; Nellie Forbush in "South Pacific"; Anita in "West Side Story"; Eliza Dolittle in "My Fair Lady" and Guinevere in "Camelot," to name a few. I have also been in two independent films.
I will be teaching two group lessons, one on Monday nights from 6:00-7:00 pm and one on Tuesday nights 7:00-8:00 pm. Monday nights will be for children and Tuesday nights for adults. I will be welcoming up to five students in each class. During my classes we will learn different acting techniques, among them improv and Stanislavski's Method.
My 30+ years of experience in community theatre and what I have learned from teachers and other actors is what I look forward to passing on to those who are as passionate about acting as I am.

Whether a student is preparing a monologue for an audition or working toward incorporating acting into music performance, I can assist the student in improving his or her acting technique. Lessons would entail basic acting exercises, monologue work, and learning about play production and the audition process.

I've been teaching acting for over 6 years and my students have gone on to use their skills in a wide variety of theatrical pursuits both on stage and on screen. Within the first few lessons you'll gain a better understanding of the art of story-telling, stage presence, movement and characterization. As time goes on you will learn how to fully develop a character and to portray the full range of human emotions. I specialize in classical theatre, musical theater and opera. I use a wide range of teaching materials including textbooks, poetry collections, classical and contemporary musical scores, as well as scripts and libretti. I provide my students with a comfortable and welcoming environment in which they can learn and grow. I am passionate about my subject and I love working with students of all ages and experience levels. I can't wait to meet you!

Having taught theatre for the past 11 years, I feel comfortable working with performers of all ages and abilities levels. Some thing that I like to focus on are: script analysis, monologue preparation, and audition strategies.
