For example: If you are interested in playing your favorite songs, we will work on learning the required chords, proper rhythms and singing techniques to get you sounding like your favorite artist. If you are interested in playing face melting solos, we will work on scales, proper technique, and riffs to have you sounding like Hendrix in no time. I have over a decade of experience as a professional touring musician to share with you.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Home studio w/ recording equipment, guitars, piano, bass, harmonicas, organ, and seating for parents

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide an instrument if they do not have one, print outs and notes on staff paper. I expect them to buy a book and eventually an instrument and other necessities.

*** Specialties ***
I am a professional guitarist, singer, and recording engineer. I perform rock, blues, country, folk, blue grass, classical, and jazz. I teach many instruments and choose the curriculum based on the students goals and genre preferences. For guitar I commonly use A Modern Method for Guitar by William Leavitt and Larry Baione, and for piano I use Alfred's Piano Method by Willard Palmer.

Evan S. Seattle, WA

Subjects Taught

Bass Guitar, Drum, Guitar, Music Recording, Music Theory, Organ, Percussion, Piano, Songwriting, Ukulele

About Me

Hello,
I studied jazz piano at Cuyahoga Community College in Ohio for two years before recently moving to Seattle. I started playing piano at a young age, and quickly gravitated toward trumpet, drums, guitar/bass, and all sorts of stringed instruments. I learned from private lessons, high school drumline, band/choir, and by studying performances from my favorite artists. I've recently started recording jazz/electronic music, and have been becoming more familiar with Logic and Ableton Live.
My lessons will be unique and very individualized (all musicians have a different background) focusing primarily on the natural learning process and improvisation, while also covering advanced music theory and reading in a laid back setting (I don't get "angry" with my students for not practicing, there's always something to work on)
My methods are unique, and they work. I look forward to making music with you.

*** Specialties ***
piano, drums
