Excellent Instructor Overall

"Awesome teacher" 5/5 stars Boulder Guitar Studio Review
I wouldn't consider getting instruction from anybody but Lee. From his lifetime devotion to music, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of musical styles and playing techniques, which he uses to customize lessons to the student's particular goals. Besides guitar and bass, I spent a lot of time with Lee studying songwriting -- he's an awesome writer himself and completely open about sharing all the things he has learned over the years.
That willingness to adapt to my particular needs and desires, along with his true passion for all types of music, makes Lee an outstanding teacher.
Pros: Helpful, Engaging, Encouraging, Smart, Patient, Funny, Fun, Good communicator- Derek Zahn, Boulder, CO, Oct 11, 2010

Write music your way! I have won many accolades for my songwriting and I am here to help you find your own voice by using simple techniques to foster the creative process. Doesn't matter what style it is, I can help you get to new places with your writing and provide strategies to write through the creative blocks!

About Matthew

I have a B.M. from Berklee College of Music with an emphasis in Folk, Bluegrass, and traditional music but can teach any style.

Would you like to have a better ear? Be able to hear chord changes quicker and translate that to your instrument? Or would you like to have a better grasp on theory and how to translate that knowledge onto your instrument?

While attending Berklee, I taught all music theory subjects (jazz and traditional harmony), ear training, counterpoint, and songwriting through the school and was involved in the tutoring department.

Are you looking to develop your songwriting? Would you like to write better lyrics? Or use a deeper theoretical knowledge to find new writing techniques and your unique voice?

While living in Boston, I received accolades and awards ...

About bob

The music heard around my house in my youth had a country twang until Elvis came along and the music rocked and rolled! In the late 60's I heard "Born To Be Wild" by Steppenwolf and I was sold!
While living in Atlanta Georgia during the 80"s I toured with The Original Drifters (Under the Boardwalk/Up On the Roof) and a Supremes cover band called Mocha. They were booked by the William Morris Agency who would actually fly us to gigs around the country! Fun! One weekend would see us in Florida the next in Arizona.
To learn more about music I moved to California and became a student at Musicians Institute of Hollywood. Being exposed to one of the coolest musical environments 24/7 was a dream come true. For my hard work I received a Student of the Year award and was ...

Made me learn things I never even considered!

Bob is a great teacher! One of the words i think describe him well is professional, and also a really nice guy! I've been taking lessons with Bob for quite some time now and he has pushed me out of my comfort zone. He knows a variety of different genres, artists, and styles that helped me become more diverse in my playing. Also, his technical ability is quite impressive. Because of
Bob i've improved my overall guitar skills in ways i never even imagined. I would highly recommend him to anyone at any level. Check out his website here: http://www.bobstory.com

Great for a beginner

Bob was always courteous and friendly and willing to be flexible with me as a very beginner guitarist. I was classically-trained on other instruments and he was fantastic at getting me passed the biases I had learned previously to reach the goals that I wanted.

William has worked with my teenaged daughter on a weekly basis for more than 6 months now. During that time, I have watched her grow from a rather shy, mostly-at-home singer to a confident performer in front of large audiences.

William has taught her not only vocal skills but to trust in the beauty of her voice and to let it shine. She's now comfortable with sharing her talent and passion for music and is excited to continue to learn and improve on her way to a professional singing career.

William's encouragement and support, as well as his skill for teaching and bringing out the best in her, have been key components of my daughter's development. We would both highly recommend him!

I believe that anyone can play the guitar well and take their next step in music. It makes a big difference if you have someone to help you learn. Most people that have attained an ability on the guitar had someone that took the time to show them what was important to work on. Much of what is thought of as difficult to play or ...
