Steve is originally from the Binghamton, NY area and began studying drums at the age of 12 with local jazz musician Tony Monforte. He participated in the All State Orchestra and was placed on the Pro-Mark Honor Roll for young, up-and-coming drummers. Steve received a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY where he studied with Gordon Stout, Steve Brown, and Robert Bridge. He was selected to participate in the Henry Mancini Institute where he worked with some of the leading jazz, film, and classical musicians and composers from around the world including Terence Blanchard, Bud Shank, Christian McBride, and Jerry Goldsmith. He has also studied with Steve Houghton, Greg Fields, John Vidacovich, and Harold Jones.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Redlands, a singer/guitarist/pianist, and I have several years of experience teaching music in private lessons and after-school programs at DC's public schools. My specialty is working with young children (5-10) and anyone interested in learning how to play blues and classic rock, including adults. I have worked with kids as young as 4 and first-time students in their seventies, and have developed a unique curriculum for getting children excited about music. In lessons, my style is laid-back and my priority is creating a safe space for my students to challenge themselves, take artistic risks, and learn from their mistakes. I believe you're never too young to enjoy music, and never too old to start learning!

Khalil has had a life filled with music. His musical endeavors began at the age of six and since that time he has built mastery in the areas of piano, organ, drums, and saxophone. He sought formal music education at Elizabeth City University where he attended via a scholarship for his skills in rhythm. It was during this time that he strengthened his skills in percussion such as drums and piano. After matriculating Khalil went on to play for several well acclaimed artist and gospel groups throughout his career. He currently is a Director of Music and chief organist for a local church in the Washington Metro area. He specializes in Gospel, Contemporary Christian, Jazz, and R&B; however can play and train all genres of interest, including classical.

I've been teach Guitar and Bass for about 2 years now. I've recently been tutoring music theory for college level students. I like getting to know my students as I teach them. Not just for the sake of being able to teach you better. Being comfortable just hanging out before, during and, after a lesson makes the learning experience all that much better. I have all my Music major (Classical Guitar) requirements finished and the information is still fresh in my brain. I play many different styles of music but I specialize in Rock or Metal.

I am originally from Stamford, Connecticut and I currently reside in the DC Metropolitan area where I am a music teacher. I began playing piano at the age of 5 and I started playing the trumpet at the age of 10. I graduated Cum Laude with my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Lynchburg College in 2008, where I served as the principal trumpet player in the Lynchburg College Symphony, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. Hi my name is Aleksis, know by thousands of students as "Mr B." I'm 33, happily married with a one year old daughter and five year old son. I have been teaching music for over twenty years now. I have been performing locally and nationally since 1992, solo and with a band, at hundreds of venues across the country as a singer/songwriter guitarist and keyboardist.
