About Me

I am a multi-instrumentalist who has taught for 41 years. I have had both Zakke Wilde and Dave Sabo of Skid Row in lessons, as well as countless music school scholarship students. Many of my students have embarked on performing careers as well as teaching at the school and college level. The lessons are laid back, friendly and above all- helpful. We will study and work on the music of your choice, but, with a slight twist from the traditional, that I incorporate not just playing the song, but to get you the student ready to be able to work out the songs harmony, theory, notation and phrasing on your own. I feel this must be done in order to get a student to be able to perform with others. Lessons should always be about instructing a student to know and utilize every musical concept so that they will be able to perform with others.

*** Lesson Details ***
You can expect to be well grounded in theory and being able to play an instrument with solo and chords, comping, etc., in all keys - as well as song structure and song learning. We will analyze all aspects of the song. We will do a song together, then, i will through theory, show the student how to work out a song on their own.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have amps, cables, recorders, books, sheets, etc here at the studio. You need only your instrument and a music writing book.

*** Travel Equipment ***
they must have instrument

*** Specialties ***
All methods are my own. We work through theory and analysis to enable a student to learn how to put a song together and perform it on their own.

About Me

Christian D. has been playing saxophone for fourteen years. He attended Churchville-Chili High School and attempted to take every music class his school had to offer. He was always very involved in his school's music program. He took private lessons with Mr. Terry Bacon (a graduate from Eastman School of Music) for eight years before going to college. He just completed his BM in Music Education and Saxophone Performance at SUNY Fredonia. There he studied classical with Dr. Wildy Zumwalt and jazz with Bruce Johnstone.
Christian has been in many elite bands since the start of his career as a musician. He has participated in the Roberts Wesleyan Honors Band, Hochstein School of Music Junior Wind Symphony, All-County Band, and New York Area All State band, as well as performing as a soloist for the All-County orchestra his junior year in high school.
Christian has received many awards to merit his efforts in music. Some of these include the Eastman Award given to high school juniors who plan to major in music and who excel above others in school. He also received a $200 scholarship for his jazz-playing ability from the Independence Jazz reunion.
At Fredonia, Christian was involved in everything the music program had to offer. He participated in major ensembles, a saxophone quartet, saxophone ensemble, a big band, and a jazz sax combo, in addition to his regular course load. He was a founding member of the Bogus on Temple Blues Band that actively played in the Fredonia area for a year and a half. He is also a member of the musical fraternity of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Now that his BM is completed, Christian is pursuing his Masters in Jazz performance at New Jersey City University. There he studies with Bob Malach and Joel Weiskopf. Christopher P. Brooklyn, NY

About Me

My name is Chris Palmer and I am a graduate from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's in Film Scoring. I have been playing trombone for 13 years, tuba for 7, and have been composing and arranging music since my early high school years. I have had the privilege of playing with and writing for many different artists and ensembles with genres from classical and jazz to funk and salsa.

In October 2012 I began teaching trombone/low brass and music theory at the King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham MA to students grades 4-12. Some of my former students have entered into competitions and won awards/chairs due to their efforts and understanding of the techniques and skills I have taught them. There are few feelings as rewarding as hearing one's student develop and progress through their musical journey. Now that I live in New York I wish to continue to share my knowledge and passion with any student who hungers for music!
