Sarah K. Glen Head, NY

I teach a holistic approach to Broadway singing. It is all about personality and centering the body to help you find your own unique voice. I can teach you how to interpret a song while internalizing the character behind the song, with elements of acting.

I will teach you proper technique tailored to the individual student resulting in increased range and flexibility.
Lessons will involve learning correct posture, breath control, and singing on the vowels, voice timbre, and pitch range. I can teach you a healthy way to belt.

My teaching style is fun and I can help you choose songs that are right for your type in preparing for auditions. I will show you how to be a great singing actor.

I have known Sarah for ten years. As Associate Professor I have served as her instructor and mentor. As a former school principal K-12 I can honestly say I would hire Sarah in an instant. She is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. Perhaps most impressive about Sarah is her talent for identifying student challenges and developing lessons to overcome any weaknesses. She is also a teacher who is always optimistic---she is a wonderful motivator. On a personal level she is a young woman of the highest character and she has my highest recommendation.

I have worked with Sarah over the past year assisting her with the development of her music teaching business, and in particular as an editor for the website of her business, Eskay’s Music Lessons. In working with and mentoring Sarah, I have come to know her on both a personal and professional level. What is immediately obvious about Sarah is her love of music, and her desire to share this with as many people as possible through teaching. Sarah is developing her business so she may teach others to embrace their own musical talents as she has embraced her own. I have spent many hours with Sarah and have observed how dedicated and devoted she is to operating a successful business and ensuring all of her customers receive the best music instruction available. In my opinion, Sarah’s determination, work-ethic, patience, and enthusiasm towards music and her business goals will undoubtedly result in an exceptional business to match her exceptional musical talents.

Sarah is a very passionate and creative person when it comes to the arts. While student teaching with me, she was always professional. She was actively engaged in the learning process and worked hard at helping the students become successful musicians and learners. In the class, students would be presented with challenging material that gave them to space to get at a deeper level of music learning. They asked questions. They wanted to learn. As a teacher, she is calm and patient. She is capable of capturing the needs of students while using their interests in the lesson. She can relate to them and that is what makes her so easy to talk to. Sarah was greatly appreciated and respected by the students at school. She exposed them to new music and a encouraged them to listen and look at music differently. Working with Sarah was a great experience. She and I would bounce ideas around until we found exactly what would "click" with the students. She is not only a skilled and talented musician herself, but a teacher with the students' best interests at heart.

About Carol

I love music and and teaching individuals and groups of all ages to sing and to use music to express themselves! My earliest musical influence was my mother who taught me to sing at the age of 3 and my tap dancing teacher, who taught me to sing and dance with poise and confidence. Learning to perform at any early age and to tap into our musical intelligence and creativity can build inner strength, character and confidence. Music is a means to explore, enjoy and center one's life.

My performance experience includes solo cabaret shows, concerts and various venues including the United Nations, private & corporate parties and restaurants in the NYC area. I am the choral director for a women's chorus that has performed internationally.

Laura K. New York, NY

I've taught students who are just beginning and coached professionals - if you're looking to iron out some kinks or to finally follow your dreams of stardom and start from scratch, I'm your girl! :) I also offer character assessment in relation to Broadway and theater style singing.

About Laura

Music is definitely the universal language, and there isn't a genre I don't love; it's important to me that that aspect be brought to lessons, as well! From humble New Jersey beginnings to an opera career, I've seen the power of what music can do!

Whether it's opera, musical theater, folk, rock, or just public speaking, anything YOU love to do, I would love to teach you! Having taught all ages and levels, from first graders to adults, from someone who's never sung a note in his or her life to semi-professionals, I cater my lessons to what YOU as a student need and are interested in.

Lessons shouldn't be a chore - I like to foster an environment you look forward to being a part of! I also think that music, like any sport, is hard work, and takes ...

Awesome teacher! patient, knowledgeable, & creative

I'm a complete beginner, could barely sing in tune. I decided to take lessons for fun. but whoa was i surprised at the progress I've made with Laura in just a few short months. She has catered to my individual needs, and has made my learning experience fun. She works at my pace so i never feel rushed or bored. She teaches singing lessons in a way anyone can understand. Her background in opera means she can sing and teach her students amazing vocal range. She taught me anything is possible with hard work and dedication! I've learned so much with her, it's hard to put it all in a short review. Pick her and you won't be disappointed! Thank you Laura!

Great teacher

Laura is a really good and nice teacher. She is patient to answer all of my questions.I improved a lot in a short period of time with her tips on singing. She's not only just teach you how to sing, she also talks some histories of music and different examples or even her experiences to me. She can make an exercise into a fun way to do. I learned a lot from her and I gain more confident on singing. I'm always looking forward to take lessons with her. She's such a great singer and vocal coach!! Laura is a great choice for those of you who want to learn singing in a comfortable, no pressure and fun environment. ^_^

Chelsea aside from her amazing operatic voice, happens to be an excellent teacher. She has studied and trained with some of the top names in the business and has been able to incorporate these various professional coaching techniques into her own style. Chelsea has performed, soloed and auditioned and knows the drill. She is patient and offers excellent and professional guidance. I would recommend her to anyone considering voice lessons for the first time, or looking for a new teacher.
