Cameron C. Nashville, TN

Subjects Taught

Bass Guitar, Classical Guitar, Guitar, Mandolin, Music Performance, Music Recording, Music Theory, Ukulele

About Me

Cameron is a musician, teacher, and worship leader. He recently moved from Anaheim, CA 9 years ago to achieve a Bachelors Degree in Commercial Music at Belmont University and now resides in Nashville, TN.

Since 2004 I have gigged, recorded, and wrote/ co-wrote music in Nashville, TN. When I graduated in 2008 I went on the road for a couple years with an artist named Dave Hunt when I returned from the road I wasn't quite sure what to do next. I decided that I might enjoy teaching so for the last 4 years I have started small and built up my student base to around 30-35 students a week. I also teach high school music history and music theory at a home school tutorial and enrichment school in town. I simply use the college curriculum that I received and fine tune it for students from all levels of playing (basically like getting a college music lesson for much cheaper!)

"I have a passion and love for finding the best way to teach a new musical idea/technique/song, I am bold and will use the best way to teach you, based on your learning style."

*** Lesson Details ***
I teach multiple styles (jazz, pop, rock, latin, country, bluegrass, and classical) on the instruments listed on my page and love to teach songs, technique, and music theory in my lessons. I also throw in, if asked for, note reading, and ear training by transcription of staff notation and the nashville number system.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Dedicated lesson space.
- Amplifiers for electric guitar and bass.
- Electric guitar, 2 Acoustic guitars, Classical Guitar, Ukelele, and Mandolin
- Audio Technica AT4040, PreSonus TubePre, M-Audio Mobile USB DAC, Apple Mac mini, Logic DAW, and M1 Active Alesis Studio Monitors for Audio Recording.
-M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 for Piano playing.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can bring all curriculum. I expect each student to own the respective instrument that they are wanting to learn.

*** Specialties ***
I like to blend a basis of music theory in with my song instruction, and I teach blues, jazz, country, rock, bluegrass, and latin styles of music. Since I have experience as a working musician, having been playing rock music in live settings for about 8 years and also jazz music for 6 years with 4 years of jazz study at Belmont University, I would say I have gathered a wide range of musical styles and specialize in all of them.

About Me

Re-imagine. Re-define. Re-authenticate.

This is the motto followed by Minnesota born Kyle Wesley; combining classic methods with modern soundscapes in order to stretch genres. Whether through production skills, engineering, or instrumental performances, the goal is always innovation.

Studying under multiple teachers and disciplines, Kyle Wesley's sound has been shaped by his education, stemming from Jonny Lang's teacher Teddy Larsen, to jazz visionaries Nick Fryer and Alan Carter (MSUM), to professional Nashville session guitarist Mike Ihde (Berklee College of Music).

Thanks to proper education and inspiration, Kyle Wesley has performed at many venues of multiple sizes. As small as local jazz clubs, such as Studio 222, unique as the community theater orchestral pit, and as large as opening for bands like OK Go in packed settings. No venue is too large or too small.

Currently Kyle Wesley is paving his way through Nashville and beyond by creating his own methods, re-defining genres, and creating vast soundscapes to fit any situation. Constantly furthering himself creatively and proficiently, Kyle Wesley has showed continuing dedication towards achieving success in production, engineering and musicality.

Lessons with Kyle Wesley can include anything and everything!

*** Lesson Details ***
We can develop a personalized lesson plan dependent on what the student's goals are. Note reading, playing by ear, or just learning the songs you enjoy. We can also discuss production and engineering if your interests span to that area as well!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Logic Pro, Waves, Presonus Firepod, Sennheiser and Audio Technica mics.

1965 Epiphone Olympic, Custom Fender Nashville Tele, 12-string Yamaha, Art and Luthrie Acoustic

Orange Cab with a Mesa TransAtlantic head. Array of pedals as well.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Acoustic or electric. Acoustic is preferred, but whatever is necessary!

*** Specialties ***

My teaching style: I will teach you to teach yourself! To give you the proper tools and knowledge to reach your goals.

Coming from a family of Classical and Jazz musicians, I have been exposed to music my whole life. Over the years I have had the opportunity to play and record with many great bands and artists ranging from Country/Bluegrass to Rock to Jazz. I teach all genres of guitar, bass, banjo ukulele and mandolin.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe the ability to play an instrument is only part of musicianship. I also strive to teach my students the theory behind the music they learn. I work hard to make sure that my students are doing everything in the easiest way possible. I want to ensure that they are able to progress quickly enough so that they can see the difference. The most rewarding moment as a teacher is when a student points out how hard something once was and how easy it has become.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I travel with all teaching equipment needed but a music stand is recommended for the lessons and for practicing.

*** Specialties ***

I tailor all of my lessons based on your individual goals and abilities with a custom curriculum I have developed over 13 years of teaching. Whether you just want to strum along on the couch, jam out with other players, write your own songs, or start a band, I can give you the skills, confidence and motivation to help you succeed and follow your musical dream.

Music has been my passion as long as I can remember, and teaching others who feel the same is what I love doing. I hope we work together one day and find out what we can accomplish together!
