About Me

Sindhu, singer and pianist, received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Georgia State University where she studied with W. Dwight Coleman. She is familiar with many genres of music including classical, pop, christian contemporary, and music theater. Her stage credits include the roles of Cendrillon in Massenet's Cendrillon, Mi in the Atlanta Lyric Theater production of The Land of Smiles, and Voice of the Fountain in the Lincoln Center Opera production of Ainadamar.

Sindhu is also at home in orchestral singing, having sung as a featured soloist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on several occasions, including performances of West Side Story as well as the concert setting production and Deutsche Grammophon recording of Osvaldo Golijov's Grammy Award winning Ainadamar, which she also sang at Carnegie Hall with the Orchestra of St. Luke's.

In addition to singing, Sindhu is accomplished pianist, having performed as a music director and accompanist for many musicals including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Wiz, High School Musical, and the Secret Garden. She currently serves as the Children Choirs accompanist at Tucker United Methodist Church and plays regularly in the worship services at Gwinnett Community Church.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons take place once a week for either 30 or 45 minutes. I strongly suggest 30 minute lessons for all beginning piano students and 45 minute lessons for all Level 1 and above piano students as well as all voice students.

For Piano: I use the Faber method books. Lessons usually begin with a concept out of the Lesson Book followed up by an assignment from the Theory Book. If time permits, we will play out of the Performance Book, another song book, or a song of the student's choice. I always try to end the lesson with a music game that emphasizes ear training, sight-reading, and theory.

For Voice: I teach breath focused singing using a variety of approaches, the main being Bel Canto Technique. I enjoy teaching many genres of voice including music theater, classical, pop, and jazz. I begin the lesson with exercises emphasizing breathing and technique. I then move to working through songs enhancing the student's artistry. If time allows, we work on sight-reading and ear training at the end of the lesson.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano and music stand. I also have recording equipment if the student needs to record themselves.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I do not provide any equipment besides books and materials. I expect the students to have a piano or keyboard accessible in the home.

*** Specialties ***

About Me

Since he was seven years old, Mr. McCool knew he wanted to be a singer. Once he heard the glorious voices of the three tenors (Domingo, Carreras, and Pavarotti), he knew he must spend his life learning to make those awe-inspiring sounds. It was at this time when he started singing in church choir, and Mr. McCool highly encourages all aspiring singers to join a community choir or church choir as soon as they’re able.

Throughout his musical education at Georgia State University (Bachelors and Masters Degrees), he gained a firm musical foundation in vocal technique, ear-training, sight-reading, music theory, and a renewed appreciation for making music as part of a group. In addition, he had the good fortune to learn from some of the most phenomenal musicians in Atlanta: Dwight Coleman, Dr. Peter Marshall, and Maestro Michael Palmer. After graduation, Mr. McCool continued honing his craft by singing in community groups such as the Atlanta Master Chorale and professional groups like the Atlanta Opera Chorus. He also continued his private studies with Jason Hardy and Sharon Stephenson.

As a professional teacher (voice and piano), in 2013 Mr. McCool was recognized as a Top Teacher for student retention, communication with parents and staff, general positive feedback, and overall professionalism. In addition, both his voice and piano students regularly receive superior ratings at the local National Federation of Music Clubs festivals; earn leading roles in school productions; and place in local talent shows.

About Me

I have been playing/writing music for the last 10 years. I am a very passionate, positive, and fun person; and my love for music shows in my lessons. Music is more than a hobby to me; it is truly my life, and I love sharing it with others.

The very moment I learned to read music, I started creating music of my own. I enjoyed writing music so much that I decided (while in middle school!) that music was going to be my future, my career, my life! I learned to play guitar and started touring around the South-East, playing my songs for anyone and everyone. During this time I also started teaching private guitar lessons in music stores, for music companies, and at my home studio. This is where I developed my love for sharing the joy of music with others! Eventually, I decided to get serious and I enrolled as a music student at Reinhardt University, where I have been for the last 3 years. At Reinhardt, I am a music education major (focus in guitar), and have completed a minor in piano. Also, I play double bass in the Reinhardt Symphonic Winds and the Reinhardt Symphony Orchestra.

Today, I am a composer and music teacher. I have taught over 60 students in my home studio, and I use the experience that I have gathered over the years to better teach my lessons. I spend the majority of my spare time writing new compositions, and in April 2012, I had my first piece commissioned and premiered by the Reinhardt Symphonic Winds! I am also an active performer, playing acoustic shows regularly.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons with me will be fun and relaxed, yet challenging! I know that sometimes, the fundamentals of music are not always the most exciting things to learn about. So, I strive to make lessons entertaining and musical from the very beginning! I will have you playing songs ASAP. I know exactly what steps to take to have you playing like a pro in the fastest time possible. I want to set you up for success, and I will give you the supplies to succeed (and have fun while doing it!). I drive my students to practice as much as possible; simply because daily practice at home is the best way to unlock your true potential.

My lessons are a custom fit for each individual. There is no ONE way that everyone learns, and that is why I take the time to create lesson plans that are tailored to each student. Obviously, there are basics that every students needs to know, but beyond that, your personal musical goals will be at the forefront of your lessons with me! I have some students who love music theory, ones who enjoy improvization (creating music on the fly), and others who simply love to sing songs while strumming guitar. Whatever your passion, I will help you reach your goals and hopefully inspire you to create additional musical goals!
