About Me

"Stature is not measured in inches." That is my motto.

There is no one too young or too old to have fun in music. My professional life as a working musician and private instructor is based on that idea. There is no one too good to learn something new, so every day something new needs to be learned. And no one too old to have a great time playing music!

My instructors from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass, my Alma Mater, gave that encouragement to me, and I pass that on to my students.

My experience has also shown me that, as those better than me teach me much, I also love to share whatever I learn that will give my students the same joy that I have received learning and playing music.

*** Lesson Details ***
I have a laid back approach with my students that allows them to be aware of what is expected of them without taking away the fun of getting there.

As I emphasize playing music as being fun, reading and theory(being goals to achieve) will be worked on next to the students choice of one song/tune each lesson that they want to learn.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons take place in living room; 1 six-string and 2 four-string electric basses, electric upright, acoustic six-string guitar, cables/amps

*** Travel Equipment ***
Basses and/or guitar, depending on the students needs. Amp may also be supplied.

*** Specialties ***
The styles I teach range from Rock, Pop, R&B, Funk, and Jazz. Each of those genres are inclusive of Reading, Writing, and Performance technique.

About Me

I am a Music major currently attending UMSL studying composition and performance. I have finished an Associates in Music from STLCC, and have been giving private lessons since 2012. I have performed in multiple STL groups and have performed at many popular venues including Blueberry Hill, Roberts Orpheum Theatre, Off Broadway, The Broadway Oyster Bar, and The Gramophone to name a few. I perform a wide range of styles including Classical, Rock, Funk, Reggae, Jazz, Blues, and Progressive music. I have performed in Concert/Jazz choir, as well as Jazz band at both High school and Collegiate levels. Classically trained in piano for 8 years. I give students a mix of formal and informal training that involves studies with proper technique and sight-reading mixed with a curriculum that focuses on the students preferences in musical taste, songs, and style!
