Let's get straight to it, I truly love teaching. Helping others attain the pure satisfaction that comes from musical accomplishment is one of my greatest joys. I strive to create an atmosphere that makes students feel comfortable so they are able to learn in a healthy way. Music should be fun and not something one feels forced to do, right? My goal is to stimulate creativity and inspire a drive in students to be the best musician they can be.
I have taught a wide variety of students in terms of age and musical direction, and love working with you to find what you want to play. With my experience in areas such as, orchestral percussion to rock drumming, as well as winning scholarships and attending college, I am confident I can help you do whatever you want in music.

I am not an expert teacher for keyboard percussion or timpani, but all other forms of percussive instrumentation are well within my grasp.
I hold a Bachelor's in music from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am on the teaching staff at School of Rock Aurora. I have taught in the past in WA and CO including at music stores and in several public schools. I was previously signed to Candlelight Records and I have published two books on bass drum technique. I have worked with students who have learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
I have taught students from age 4 to 58 and I accept all ability levels and any type of musical background (or lack thereof).
My teaching is a combination of traditional knowledge and modern application. I customize my lessons for every student and everyone learns what they are interested in, plus some basics that everyone must know.

My Personal Philosophy:
In many parts of the world there is no separation between music and culture, and to that end I strive to bring my students closer to the outside world through the strength of their own musical bond. Having music be a part of my life has brought me great opportunities to meet other ...

As a Graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, I've been lucky enough to have studied with some of the most diverse masters of drumset and percussion from several continents around the globe. I've been a player of the drums for over 26 years now, and I'm still practicing and perfecting the art, gaining new friends, students, and live stage experiences on the way.
Let me start by saying that I highly value the freedom that I've been able to enjoy ...
I played percussion in my middle school and high school bands, and I can provide lessons for almost any percussion instrument, including xylophones and marimbas.
I have been playing the drum set for about 12 years. I even have about 6 years experience with the guitar. I have played in my high school's jazz ensemble, as well as concert band and marching band. I also played in a classic rock cover band during high school and played shows around Chicago every weekend. Over the past few years I have gotten into writing my own music, and I now attend school at UC Denver majoring in both recording arts and performance. Last year, I attended school at CU Boulder and played in a jazz combo during my time there. I am trained in all styles when it comes to drumming, and wouldn't have a problem teaching beginner, intermediate, or advanced level players.
I can teach all aspects of percussion, including drum set, xylophone and mallet instruments, snare drum and other ensemble instruments such as timpani and chimes.
Since early childhood, I have shown great interest in anything music related. I have played piano since age four and have continued playing numerous instruments throughout my career. Currently, I can play approximately fourteen musical instruments, four of which I have played the longest and have pursued professionally. I have had a rich musical education since childhood. I took private piano lessons since the age of five through senior year of college and I also have had guitar, voice and percussion lessons given to me by educators throughout my career.
In elementary school, I began playing percussion and continued to do so throughout High School. It was also during my High School years that I picked up Guitar and Voice. I attended Cherry Creek High School for three years and was a ...
