It is a pleasure to meet you! A little introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy; I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven, and I just reconnected with my first teacher again on Facebook, what a lovely world this is.

Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years.

I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them to accomplish the goals they have set for themselves, working with music that delights and educates.

Gaw is a voice artist, music teacher, and arranger local to the Sacramento area, specializing in styles such as Jazz, Pop, R&B, and Classical. She began her music experience with the baritone at age 12, and eventually learned to play the violin, trumpet, French horn, piano, and percussion. She received her B.M. in Vocal Jazz Performance from California State University of Sacramento which she studied under world-class jazz artists Julia Dollison and Kerry Marsh.

Gaw sings locally in various Sacramento venues, such as Shady Lady, JB lounge and Capital Garage. She won multiple Downbeat Awards with vocal jazz ensembles at Sacramento State. She performed with Schola Cantorum under the direction of Don Kendricks. Gaw played brass with the championship level drum and bugle corps, Mandarins and Blue Devils A. She performs currently with the world class choir RSVP (Reconciliation Singers Voices of Peace).

John was born and raised near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He began playing the guitar and composing music at the age of twelve. From 2002 to 2004, John attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he studied classical guitar performance and became the guitarist for the University Jazz Ensemble. John transferred to Berklee College of Music in the fall of 2004. At Berklee, he performed in guitar quartets and quintets and majored in Composition. He will receive his Bachelor's Degree in May of 2011.

I am a brass, voice and percussion artist and teacher, local to the Sacramento area, specializing in many styles such as Classical, Jazz, and Pop. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance from CSU Sacramento. During my time here in Sacramento I have held the position of Principal Tuba for the Folsom Symphony for the 2009 - 2011 seasons. I'm currently the lead trombone for the Harley White Jr. Jazz Orchestra and lead trombone for the Element Brass Band. In addition, I was privileged to win multiple downbeat awards with the Sacramento State Jazz Singers where I sung bass and was often a featured soloist. I am even featured as the bass singer in Selfless Cold and Composed on the Ben Folds' College a cappella album released in 2009. As well, I have been given the great opportunity to play in several professional drum lines (most notably that of the San Francisco 49ers "Niner Noise" and Golden State Warriors aftershock". I have been teaching music both in a k-8 public and charter school setting for 7 years and my private studio was started over 10 years ago. I am most passionate about helping my students discover their passion and working with their own interests to foster their abilities. That means I work with all styles of music. From Chopin to Led Zeppelin to Selena Gomez. I cater each lesson to the specific and unique needs and interests of my students. Music is Fun! I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have always enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. My name is Sean W. and I've been a multi instrumentalist for 23 years! I've performed opera as a soprano, Rock, funk, punk, metal, and Jazz on guitar, bass, and drum-kit. I find being able to accompany my students on other instruments to be an indispensable tool.

I my elementary years I attended a music school. There I performed "classical styles" as a solo soprano and classical pianist. I'm Esther, a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself piano and singing in a choir at the age of 9. I moved to the U.S. in 1992 and studied music for 10 years receiving my B.M. & M.A. in music at California State University of Sacramento. I studied and trained with Claudia Kitka & Jackie Victorino for voice and Kirsten Smith, Joan McDe, & Angel Mamn for piano. I have performed many solo concerts in the U.S. as well as South Korea.

I find a student's strengths and weaknesses using various ways to encourage each student. I am very patient, kind, flexible, and enthusiastic and I love working with children as much as adults. I strongly support basic skills: sight-reading, pitch and tone.
