Music has always played a big part in my life since the third grade when I joined an after-school program for a recorder choir. I decided to start learning the violin a couple years later but never imagined as a child that it would lead me to keep pursuing a college degree in music. It was at the start of college where I realized the power of the music of Bach Beethoven, Wagner, Prokofiev - just to list a few names. Music gives a voice to emotions and colors, leaving a unique opportunity of interpretation to the discretion of the artist. Bringing the joy of music alone is always my main goal for any of my students, and giving people the opportunity to express themselves comes secondary but is equally as important. With more than 20 years of teaching experience for the cello, I have taught students of all ages, throughout California and overseas. I earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Cello Performance and am currently the Principal cellist for the Camellia Symphony, California. In addition, I am teaching all levels of cello and beginner violin lessons to my students in Folsom, Napa and Sacramento.

My professional performing experience began in Medellin, Colombia in 1985 with the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra where I was their Soloist beginning in 1992 and later on, as First Cello, from 1998-2002.

Gaw is a voice artist, music teacher, and arranger local to the Sacramento area, specializing in styles such as Jazz, Pop, R&B, and Classical. She began her music experience with the baritone at age 12, and eventually learned to play the violin, trumpet, French horn, piano, and percussion. She received her B.M. in Jazz Studies and currently working on her Master in Voice Performance at California State University of Sacramento.

I've played flute since the day I fell in love with it. When I was a little girl I saw the flute for the first time and wanted to play it ever since. I had a rough start in learning how to play the flute but over the past 13 years I've developed enough skill to be an advanced musician.

When I first started I had private tutors to teach me how to play. Then I played in elementary, middle, and high school concert band. At Sacramento State, I've performed with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Concert Band, and Symphony Orchestra.

I'm currently an undergraduate student at Sacramento State majoring in Music Education & Performance in flute. This is my fourth year and I've already learned much about many instruments other than the flute. I've learned to play piano, trumpet, violin, cello, and most of the other instrument families. I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. I have continued to study violin since then and have performed in many orchestras and small groups, such as Honor Orchestra, the Paradise Symphony, the Yuba College Orchestra, Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society Orchestra and more. I am an active violinist and composer and a very enthusiastic teacher! I began playing the violin when I was five years old and studied classically for many years. I started college early at Bard College at Simon's Rock, and graduated with my B.A. magna cum laude in music when I was nineteen years old. Following that, I completed a Fulbright Fellowship in Belgrade, Serbia, where I studied many different types of music, including Roma folk music and contemporary composition at the Belgrade Conservatory. I also taught English at the University of Belgrade.

I have spent time as a musician in New York City and have performed my own compositions on the electric violin across Central and Eastern Europe. I have worked with professional film composers and music editors as an assistant, orchestrator, and copyist. I recently began my graduate studies at Mills College, where I am studying composition, improvisation and performance.
