I've been teaching violin to students of all ages for 7 years and helped students reach various goals, from succeeding in auditions to learning how to read music. Within the first few lessons, we will get acquainted and specify what your goals are. I specialize in classical music but am willing to teach any musical style the student is interested in and I love to experiment with new playing styles! I believe anyone can learn violin and that they should have fun doing it!
I received a bachelor's in Music at Adrian College in May, 2013. I have been playing violin for many years and have performed with several orchestras including the Adrian Symphony Orchestra. I have also performed for several weddings, benefit events and recitals. On top of performing, I have been teaching lessons for five years and really enjoying working with my students. It is really rewarding for me to see my students improve and work to achieve their goals. Experienced Violin teacher of 30 years available for eager students aged 2 through adult! I teach using the Suzuki Violin Method through book five and am certified in books one and two. I structure the lessons around each student so that they are taught at their level and speed while encouraging and challenging them to excel further.
Over 25 years violin teaching experience. I have successfully taught students ages 3 to adult. Anyone can learn to play the violin. Lessons in a comfortable setting, either my house or yours.

Lessons are taught in my home in a comfortable setting. Parents are encouraged to sit in on lessons and are expected to help their child practice. I teach the Suzuki Method and the Suzuki book and recording are required. I will change details to suit a student, for instance I teach note reading long before a traditional Suzuki teacher would and I will add non-Suzuki materials into lessons if needed.

I teach beginners as early as age 4.5 and have taught groups of adults as well. I am an advanced player, but typically teach beginners up to mid-intermediate level.
I've been playing violin since elementary school. I went to Eastern Michigan & played in the orchestra and I've attended summer music camps galore including Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and Interlochen. I traveled throughout Europe with Blue Lake's International Orchestra and also played with their Alumni Orchestra.
