I studied classical guitar and composition at Asbury College and later more in depth guitar studies rock, jazz, and classical at the Atlanta Institute of Music. I have been teaching steadily for the past ten years as well as spending my time with various other musical projects such as leading worship for my church, performing for various parties and weddings, and composing and recording music for a short film. I use my experience and broad understanding of music to inform the way that I teach, so that my students have a robust experience of all aspects of music.

I have eight years teaching experience and have a bachelors in guitar performance. I attended AIM on bass guitar and have been playing for eighteen years. Through my education and experience I have had success in teaching the fundamentals and getting my students up to speed by teaching technique and strong music fundamentals. I teach all ages and am enthusiastic about conveying my love for the instrument.

I have played music professionally for 18 years and also own and operate a home studio. I remember wanting to learn to play bass and guitar when I was young and how exciting it was to imagine playing on stage one day. I love it more every day I play and have embraced the opportunity to pass on my knowledge to students who want to play, whether on a stage or just for fun and personal fulfillment, which is the most important reason to play in the first place.

I am a professional guitarist/bassist with more than 15 years experience playing in bands of various styles including hard rock, metal, jazz and country. I have toured across the U.S. and have shared the stage with acts as varied as Drivin' & Cryin', Seven Mary Three, Better Than Ezra and Quiet Riot.

I'm a freelance drummer and teacher working in the Gwinnett County area. I have been playing in and around Atlanta since 1979 and moved here in 1981. I have been teaching for the Gwinnett School Of Music since 1997 and currently have 25 full-time students. I continue to perform on a regular basis with several local acts and work a few months a year with a local middle school percussion section. I received an early education in marching and symphonic music under band director John V. Mazza and had the privilege of marching with the 1st place trophy winning Prince George High School Band of Petersburg, Virginia in the 1969 Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, California. During the 70s I toured throughout the southeast and midwest with a variety of bands based out of Panama City, and Miami, Florida.

Dr. David M. is an awarding winning, published composer, guitarist, and theorist. He is a former college professor at Piedmont and Truett-McConnell college and a graduate of UGA's doctoral program. I started playing guitar while in high school. Then, I furthered my studies in guitar at the Atlanta Institute of Music (2 Years) and Georgia Perimeter College (2 Years) where I studied Music Theory and Jazz. It was during these few years when I played in several rock, Bluegrass and Jazz improvisational bands, that played out regularly in Metro-Atlanta. I have also run several "Open Mic Nights" in several restaurants and bars. I have studied with Trey Wright at Kennesaw State University and recently graduated with a B.A. in Jazz Guitar (Summer 2011), with a concentration in Jazz Performance. While at Kennesaw State, I spent 3 years performing in the KSU Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Guitar Ensemble, and Jazz Combo Bands.

Jim S. is an Atlanta native and gained a love for music early in life by touring with The Atlanta Boy Choir in Europe and Alaska in 1987 and 1988. After a few years of playing drums and teaching himself guitar, Jim started his academic studies in guitar performance at Atlanta Institute of Music, where he studied with notable guitarists Steve Cunningham and Nite Driscoll. Jim has also studied with Dan Baraszu, the guitarist of Atlanta’s Fabulous Fox Theatre, and was a participant of the master classes of Corey Christiansen and Jimmy Herring of Widespread Panic. Jim graduated from A.I.M. in 1999. He then moved to Athens, GA to increase his musical experience by playing in various local bands and performing in virtually every venue that Athens had to offer, including the Georgia Theatre. I am a professional bassist/guitarist with 30 years experienced playing in various bands, both locally and nationally known with styles including Rock, thrash, metal, blues, praise & worship, even country. I began taking piano lessons in grade school, played saxophone in middle school, and taught my first guitar lesson in high school. I am currently in a Christian Rock band that is signed with a major label. I have written many songs, which are copyrighted. I own and operate McDonough Music located in McDonough, GA and provide lessons there.

I am an energetic and creative individual with a passionate desire for success. One of my favorite things to do is express myself with the music I write, and I really encourage my students to do the same thing. Each lesson is made for the students personal goals and I work with them to make their musical dreams an audible and tangible reality.

In 2007 I graduated from the Atlanta Institute of Music with a Certificate of Musicianship in their guitar performance and composition program. I can say that I am well versed in genres like rock, classical, pop, jazz, blues, surf, flamenco, and can play anything that is needed of me. Since graduating I have made a living teaching hundreds of students privately and have performed in many clubs, bars, restaurants, private parties, and weddings in the greater Atlanta area.

Currently I play bass in the rising indie rock band RAVENS & WOLVES and continue to influence musicians all around with my teaching and inspirational attitude.

I first became interested in music at a young age and have never lost sight of my passion for music. From choir in middle school to band in high school, I have had some of my favorite memories in music. I continued my education by attending Reinhardt University as an education major, with an emphasis on tuba and trombone. This gave me more experiences and knowledge about music than I could have ever dreamt and I look forward to every time I get to share that knowledge. During my time at Reinhardt I have performed with the Reinhardt University Symphonic Winds, Reinhardt Orchestra, Reinhardt brass quintets and low brass choir, and the Reinhardt Jazz Ensemble. During my junior year at Reinhardt I competed and won the concerto competition, which allowed me to perform as soloist with the orchestra on the spring concert. My other performing experiences have come from recitals at Reinhardt and various gigs around the Canton, Marietta, Cobb, Atlanta, and Jasper areas.
