About Susan B.

I would first like to say that I was born into a musical family. My Dad (choir director) and five older brothers were not only the majority of the choir in our large Catholic church, but Dad had a "tame" Frank Sinatra singing style. My mother played harmonica and piano by ear so acquiring musical intellects spread quickly to all of us. Most of my siblings sang and played instruments as we had a piano, guitar, organ, harmonica, trumpet, clarinet and a recorder to use as we pleased, with or without a music teacher.

I started singing and playing the piano at age four. With consistent encouragement from my oldest sister (a professional organist for 40+ years), I learned piano and music theory while I was learning to read English, started guitar at eight. A natural born ...

excellent piano teacher

Susan Taylor is an excellent piano teacher. We are very, very happy with the lessons she has given us. She has that much desired quality of being flexible and understanding, not pushing the student too hard, and yet expecting the student to "perfect" her short pieces, so that she is playing beautifully right from the start. I highly recommend Ms. Taylor to anyone, adult or child, who is interested in learning to play the piano.

Amazing

Ms. Taylor is a wonderful teacher. She is very patient, caring and understanding. I am very shy and have anxiety problems but she does her best to help me to relax and not feel so shy. She is very knowledgable and helpful. You couldn't ask for a better instructor.

Good Job

Suzan is a good piano teacher; my doubter was accepted to good music based school after only a short time preparation with Suzan for an audition. She is always pleasant to work with, highly knowledgeable and very professional. If my daughter continues the lesson with her, she will be perfect playing the piano or even be a teacher herself. Keep up the good job Suzan.
Kailey C. Sunnyvale, TX

I have a degree in music from Abilene Christian University, and have been taking voice lessons since 2005. I have been teaching voice lessons for 2 years, and already I have seen many eager singers come through my door. My students have gone on to audition for and sing in school musicals, bands, and even karaoke in a restaurant! Many of my students take lessons solely to have fun and improve their voices, or even just their breathing. Within the first few lessons (if you're practicing between lessons, of course!), you will start to notice an improvement in your breathing and as time goes on, you will reap the benefits in your singing! I teach any style of singing, especially opera and musical theater.

I have the following tools available for your lessons: recording equipment, practice logs, keyboard, and more.

I can work with students of all experience levels!

About Kailey

Hello there! Welcome to my profile.

My name is Kailey, and I'm 25 years old. I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a degree in Music (concentration in Voice). I have taken voice lessons ever since the age of 13, but I've been singing ever since I was in a crib. I've learned many things along my journey, and I would love to help other singers realize their full potential.

I have a full time job in downtown Dallas, but I teach after work and on weekends. I also teach lessons online!

Singing is and always will be my passion!

Amazing and Talented

Kailey has a great way of giving mind visuals to help you understand what you need to do. I believe she has the perfect personality for a teacher. Someone who pushes you, but not too hard. Someone who can make the student feel comfortable. I've definitely progressed in my singing.

Carol D. Dallas, TX

Focus is on improving style, range, agility, flexibility and protecting your voice.

About Carol

On singing and performing: I've been a musician for a very long time and can testify that music heals on a mind, body, and soul level! Though my official performances in front of audiences started with playing woodwind instruments such as clarinet, sax, and flute from elementary school through high school in band, my primary instrument in earnest has been voice for the past 27 years.

However, my Mom told me that I have actually been singing--well, humming (a recognizable tune at that!)-- since I was nine months old. I've lead numerous solos in small ensembles and large choirs over the years, and was very involved not only with the adult music ministry at my church, but directed the children's choir as well. I'm a huge fan of arranging and creating harmonies for ...

I had the privilege of studying under Professor Carol during my time as an undergraduate at Southern Methodist University. Prof. DC is passionate not only about the subject matter she teaches, but also about student success. Her willingness to meet with students outside of lecture speaks to the kind of outstanding teacher she is. Whenever I was confused about a topic we were discussing in class, Prof. DC had the innate ability to explain the material in a way that quickly made sense! While I originally took her introductory economics courses as a requirement for my business major, she inspired me to further explore the field by pursuing a minor. Any student would be lucky to learn under Prof. DC as she really makes a difference!!

Haley is an incredibly talented instructor, communicator, and musician. Although I had taken several years off from singing, Haley immediately set me at ease with her clear guidance, patience, and outgoing personality. One of the biggest challenges I have found with voice instructors is that it can be difficult to communicate what the student should be doing. Haley is fantastic at articulating correct techniques with metaphors and descriptions that truly resonate. In addition, her positive attitude and personality make every lesson a joy. In just a short time, my confidence and vocal technique has greatly improved, demonstrating the true value that lessons with Haley provide.

Haley is an outstanding instructor- she gives voice lessons to my 14 y.o. daughter. Haley is very encouraging, professional, has a great sense of humor, and she's willing to let the student choose some of the repertoire (she has an extensive knowledge of many genres); all of which help quell my daughter's performance anxiety. She's also a great administrator- stays on top of how many appointments we've had, is quick to respond when we need to reschedule, and is easily reachable by phone or email. We highly recommend Haley: she brightens our day with her positive outlook, energy, enthusiasm, and talent. Maureen Lupton

About Hillary

Hillary C. has been singing since joining the Sunrise Singers in elementary school. While singing in various choral groups, she also took private lessons to develop proper vocal technique. About Sarah

Since graduating in 2003 from The Juilliard School with a BFA in Drama, I've worked steadily as a professional actress, musician, teacher, and writer, based out of both New York City and Los Angeles. In May of this year, I relocated to Dallas, Texas to be near family, and am excited by the potential of the impressive local arts scene here.

I love teaching and consider each student a gift. Taking part in minds opening and skills developing; discovering how to connect with each individual; the moment when a student's eyes light up and say "Ohhh.. I get it... its like/when..." - these are remarkable experiences to share.

Okay, to be specific about what working with me looks like! Lessons will emphasize:
1. open, honest communication
2. curiosity
3. defining ...

I have nothing but good things to say about Sarah. I've been going to Sarah for singing lessons for a few months now and in each session I have been challenged and I have also had fun. I have gained so much confidence and I have heard significant improvement in my voice. Sarah is relaxed, well informed, exceptionally trained, and very encouraging. She made it a priority to understand what my goals were as a singer and how to best teach me so that I could reach them. Taking lessons with Sarah has been a great experience for me. She's awesome!

I've been taking singing lessons from Sarah for a while now. She graduated from Juilliard in Acting, voice and singing which were obviously a major part of her studies. She's a wonderful teacher. Not only does she know her stuff (the last singing teacher I had - his idea of teaching was "sing like me"), but, from my experience, she really gets to know her students - their strengths/areas to work on, goals, learning style - and gives lessons that directly address such. I especially liked learning the physical warm-ups (stretches) that's most helpful prior to performing. Thanks, Sarah!

Sarah coached me on countless auditions for professional theatre, television and film jobs in New York City. Her firsthand knowledge of the industry combined with her insight into voice, speech and text analysis always left me feeling confident and prepared. She is a wonderful teacher. I can't recommend her enough. If you're a beginner or a seasoned veteran, Sarah offers an expertise that will be beneficial to you. And because of her caring and gentle approach, working with her inspires confidence and is just plain fun.
