I started playing recognizable melodies on the piano at 18 months old. At that time I was told that I even had perfect pitch. By age 5, my mother started giving me classical, gospel, and improvisational lessons. I was one of her 50 students until my senior year in high school. Through elementary, junior high, and high school, I received a lot of performance experience from school marching/concert bands, choirs, church choirs, piano concerts, band/choral conducting, and composing.
I received my BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington; through college and to the present, I have received over 25 years of performing/directing experience from overseeing two mega-church music ministries. At these ministries, I served as the department head, responsible for lead piano, directing, arranging, worship leading, and departmental oversight.
I have produced 7 personal instrumental projects, and I have produced and recorded over 40 projects for other local, regional, and international artists. I currently travel with national, jazz, recording saxophonist, Joseph Vincelli, and my personal band Zamar. We have performed with a number of acts from Kirk Franklin, Kirk Whalum, Boney James, Fred Hammond, and many more.
As an instructor, I have been blessed with an ability to be relatable, relevant, musical, creative, fun, and engaging. I understand the language of music as a performer, and instructor, but most importantly, I value the ability to help the student find their own path of learning the joy of making music vocally and instrumentally. With over 10 years of private teaching experience and 25 years of group experience, I have gained a wealth of knowledge on how to be instructive and personal with the young or older beginner, intermediate and even advanced players. Let's grow together musically.

I believe you can sing! Whether you’re a beginner wanting to find your voice, or a more experienced singer looking to further refine your natural talent, I’ll be there with you every step along the way.
I began singing in choirs in the third grade. In middle school, I had a very enthusiastic and supportive sixth grade choir teacher who encouraged me to see where music would take me. By 2000, I had also taken up the violin with a private teacher. I took my first private voice lesson in 2004, and began to benefit immensely from the personal attention and support that lessons provide.
I later studied at Texas Tech University, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. In my time at Tech, I was a member of the Symphony Orchestra, Women’s Chorus, University Choir, Madrigal Singers, Jazz Ensembles I/II, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals, and studied privately under several incredible faculty members. My favorite musical experience in college was singing with the University Choir at Carnegie Hall in May of 2010.
I continue to play violin and currently use my classical training to teach choir, voice, and mariachi violin at a public high school in the Dallas area. When I’m not teaching or performing, I enjoy practicing yoga, riding bikes, spending time with my fiancÚ, making jewelry, and learning Spanish.

Jerod began teaching music at the age of 16. After growing up singing and playing the piano, he started sharing his gift with others through instruction. His experience with All-State choirs, solo & ensemble contests, talent shows, and church performances gave him special insight into his student's desires in music.
While attending Baylor University, where he received a BA in music with an emphasis in voice, Jerod teamed up with 3 other vocalists to form a group called Sign of Jonah. Together, the group recorded 2 albums and performed hundreds of shows across the country.
After returning from Nashville and his time with Sign of Jonah, Jerod began teaching, singing, and songwriting again. He completed recording and co-producing his first solo album of 13 original songs in 2008. In 2010 he finished recording an acoustic EP with "Between Green Walls" and performed at the House of Blues, Dallas.
With students ranging from age 4 to 64, Jerod finds himself teaching all kinds of styles of music. He has a natural and engaging way of explaining musical concepts to old and young.
Currently, Jerod is the Associate Worship Pastor at Fellowship Bible Church Dallas.
Music has been a very important part of my life for a long time. I began taking piano lessons at age 9 and also started as a church musician that same year. Some people would say I was a very fast learner! I was, and still am, very interested in every aspect of music. I began singing in church and school a few years after that. I have played and performed a variety of styles of music but I have the most experience with Christian music, classical, pop and R & B. I am confident that I can teach you whatever style you are interested in! I am currently a high school choral director and a minister of music for church. I also play in a band with a group of my co-workers where we perform mostly pop, rock and oldies. I have been doing private lessons since I was in high school and have taught school music for 25 years. I've taught general education, choir, band and general music. I also do some composing.
I attended Jarvis Christian College (1984-1989) where I majored in All-Level Music Education. I received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in May of 1989.
After I was hired at my first school, I started working on additional certification at Texas Christian University and Texas Wesleyan University. I completed the required subjects and received certification in general education in 1991. I am currently certified in 3 areas: General Music 1-8, All-Level Music K-12 and General Education 1-8.
"Steven is very professional and extremely helpful. He always has a smile on and is serious about helping you phrase the music. I would highly recommend him to anyone."
"It's been really exciting so far! Jordan has been so helpful, so knowledgeable. I could not have found a better instructor and I'm getting better and better every day."
"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
