I have been making music my entire life. I began studying the violin at age 5 and the piano at age 6, and then when I was 8 started singing in school and church choirs. I received a music scholarship to high school which kept me busy accompanying people and participating in various instrumental and vocal groups. I began taking voice lessons as a freshman at New York University, and I'm now in year 9 of my vocal studies, year 13 of my violin-playing and year 22 of my piano-playing.
After graduating from school, I sang in several operas with the Amato Opera company in New York, and staged a recital here in Philadelphia at the First Unitarian Church in which I sang and also accompanied another singer. I have been a professional member of the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh and the ...

Learning music, especially at a young age, can have a positive impact in life. From simply playing music in the home to performing music for large audiences, the basic goal is the same: the enjoyment of being a proficient musician. I have written a bit about my experience and how I can use this to help you to become a great musician.
I began studying music when I was 8 years old. My early lessons taught me not only about music but about music teaching. As a result of these experiences, I vowed to teach students music that is meaningful to them.
Moving along, in high school I played in rock bands with my friends. I can never stress how important it is to play with other people. I always encourage my students to ...
Lessons consist of learning a solid vocal technique, and learning various repertoire from Broadway, pop, to classical. Also, performing skills will be incorporated, so that the singer feels comfortable acting the song as well. I strongly believe that singers must be actors, and that is what makes us different from instrumentalists. It is also a lot of fun! For children or adults who are willing, I also teach sight singing and spend some of the lessons time learning some basic reading skills.
Sandra began her training at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia. She is a two time recipient of the Mario Lanza Award, and holds a B.M. degree in opera from the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts. She studied acting at both the Wilma and Walnut Theaters in Philadelphia. In New York, she studied Shakespeare at the HB Studios, and received on-camera training at the Weisst- Barron Commercial School. Sandra is a member of Actor's Equity.
Sandra was engaged for seven years at Theater des Westens in Berlin, Germany, where she performed extensively in Musicals and Operetta. She also toured throughout Germany with the ensemble "Operetten Express". In the U.S., Sandra has toured nationally with "Man of La Mancha" and "Carousel", and has ...
I am a working, professional singer. While I am currently pursuing an opera career, I have plenty of experience in pop, jazz, musical theater and choral singing, and am very comfortable singing and teaching a variety of styles. I offer lessons in each of these styles. Students can choose to focus on one, or we can try a bit of everything! Lessons will consist of a series of breathing exercises and vocal warm-ups to address issues like range, tone, stamina, releasing tension, etc. I can also help singers with reading music and learning to sight-read. I have helped past students work towards auditions, upcoming school performances, preparing for open mic nights or other public performances, etc. Students can also work on singing while playing an instrument like the guitar or piano. ***For combined lessons, I recommend signing up for at least 45 minutes, as it is difficult to accomplish much in a 30 minute lesson when trying to learn both***
I am a classically trained musician with experience studying jazz and pop. I have performed in a wide variety of musical genres such as opera, oratorio, big band, jazz, musical theater, pop, lots of choral experience, etc.

I have been singing for many years and studied it in both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I can help my students sing better in whatever their desired genre may be.
I have a bachelor's degree in music from University of Miami with a minor in acting and have just finished my Master's degree in vocal performance from Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech I held my own private studio for two years. During that time I taught students of all levels in various styles ranging from classical to music theater, to rock and pop. I have helped students of advanced levels and also students who thought that they were tone deaf. I enjoy working with and getting to know all of my students. Teaching really is a great pleasure for me.

"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
