I believe that your interest in the instrument from the "get-go" is what makes the lessons seem to fly by. As you learn, this interest only gets stronger. It is my responsibility as the teacher to make sure your time spent with me is time spent where knowledge is TRANSFERRED to you and not DISPLAYED to you. There will be responsibilities for you as the student, as this is necessary in order for you to get intimately acquainted with your instrument. But my style of teaching ...

Charlie P. Charlotte, NC

We will learn how to keep good tempo, lock in with a drummer and create your own lines to use with other musicians.

About Charlie

I have been passing on what I've learned in my own studies, personal and privately taught, to help new students get the strong foundations for becoming the best musician they can be. I've been playing since age 6 (now 44) and performing since 18. I started with Classical guitar, then Rock and Jazz. In all my years of study, I've learned how to teach and how NOT to teach. I have had many years of private lessons. I've written, recorded and performed for over 20 years. My wife and I even do voice over work on occasion.

Students have become friends and I've seen many go on to become performers, songwriters and teachers. I also use a wide range of materials when teaching like DVDs, CDs, and computer 'play along' tracks. I love ...

Awesome

Charlie is not only a great teacher, but a great guy. he is fun and easy to be around, creating a relaxing environment for learning. Everything i know how to do on bass was made possible by Charlie. He is slow with the process and makes sure not to rush you and makes sure you understand 100% of the material before moving on. He is simply awesome.

Charlie B. Charlotte, NC

About Charlie

I began playing and studying guitar while still in grade school. Always a big part of who I am, guitar became the central focus of my life when I moved to the west coast in 2010 to enroll at The Musicians Institute's College of Contemporary Music.

While there, I had extensive training in sight-reading, ear-training, music theory, chart writing, and such practical music applications as scales, modes, soloing techniques, chord voicing and inversions, chord progressions, and rhythm techniques. My studies covered a broad spectrum of music styles, including blues, rock, fusion, country, pop, reggae, acid jazz, funk, and R & B, as well as such concepts as the basics of the music business, studio and audition skills, and computer notation.

Having now attained my Associate of ...
