Music has always been a big part of my life. Performing and recording electric guitar and bass guitar with several bands for over ten years. Toured as lead guitarist with original band for 3 years. Produced & engineered songs for different local artists. I have been teaching private lessons to students of all ages since 2007. I am also a music teacher in early childhood education, currently teaching at several preschools in the twin cities. In 2011 I also started teaching a series of music classes as a part of the music therapy program at Minnesota Veterans Homes.

Chuck recently moved to Portland, Oregon from Gainesville, Florida, where he was a staple of the music teaching and performing community for more than 25 years. Originally from Chicago, Chuck completed his BA in Music History and Masters of Music (MM) at the University of Florida. Chuck became obsessed with The Beatles when he began piano lessons at age 12. His first attempt at composing was actually improvising melodies over the ending chords to "Hey Jude". Along with playing Beatles tunes Chuck learned classic standards from a set of Reader's Digest Songbooks inherited from his grandmother.

Chuck has performed with classic rock, top 40, funk, R&B, and jazz groups, and has served as an opening act for Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and legendary Texas bluesman Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. Born in Arlington, Texas, I began playing guitar and bass guitar in high school. After studying for several years under Joey Faust, I studied Jazz, Classical Guitar, and Music Theory at TCC in Fort Worth. I've been teaching since 2003, my students ranging in age from 3 to over 70. I also play piano, mandolin, banjo, and ukulele.

We learn by teaching. That is why I love to teach, because I love to learn. I have made many great connections while teaching music to people and one of the ways to do that is to work together on a common goal. I started teaching music because during my own studies I have discovered many quick learning strategies that make playing music fun. Many of these strategies I had to discover on my own. Scott is a multi-instrumentalist loop master whose music spans a wide range of sounds and genres. With an education in music performance and a reputation for having a good time this laid back musician is no amateur to the music scene. Scott has performed hundreds of shows and numerous festival appearances, including 10,000 Lakes Festival, Wakarusa, Harvest Fest, Solstice Shakedown, Dogstock, Bela Luna, Camp Euforia, etc. Great stage presence and crowd interaction are a couple of things this guitarist is known for.

Over the course of my musical career I have had the opportunity to learn from many musicians. From University Professors to Street Corner Musicians, I have gathered much knowledge on how to play music. Applying that knowledge to my guitar playing has opened up many doors of opportunity and has made my life very interesting. One of my talents is to take complicated ideas and convey them in easy to understand ideas for my students. I now wish to share all my knowledge and experiences with you to enjoy a life of music.
Students of mine have been able to create their own music to record and perform. Ensembles that I have directed have performed at many local venues. I have also invited students to join me at my performances to help them become more confident in their playing.

I have been teaching guitar professionally since 2001and performing professionally since 1994.

Music has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old, when my father would record my brother and I singing. I always loved singing and learned many of my favorite songs as a child.

I started playing the trumpet in the 4th grade, which has led me all the way to receiving my degrees in Trumpet Performance and Music Education! I was lucky enough to attend one of the nation's top music schools, The Peabody Institute, and I now work toward my Master's degree at California State University, Long Beach. I have enjoyed performing in everything from big-band-lead to principal trumpet in the orchestra, leading brass quintets and brass ensembles, and much more! My name is Felipe and I am a graduate of the University of North Texas where I studied Music Theory and am classically trained at the guitar. I am currently persuing my master's degree at Texas State University. I can play many instruments and love helping others learn how to play and have fun.

My introduction to music was when I got a drum set my sophomore year of high school. I taught myself to play by playing along with my favorite bands like Pearl Jam, the Smashing Pumpkins and the Beatles. I started teaching myself to play the guitar two years later during my senior year of high school. Soon after, I learned how to play electric bass, ukulele and mandolin. Since then, I have played in many garage bands and pursued an education in music.

My name is Peter A. I've been playing guitar for over ten years. I recently graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, I spent several semesters studying with Tomo Fujita (former teacher of John Mayer and Eric Krasno). I've also studied with legendary guitarist Pat Metheny and Jack Pezanelli. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Wes Montgomery, and Jimi Hendrix are responsible for inspiring me to play guitar and I specialize in teaching blues and jazz. I've performed with a bunch of great artists in the Boston and Philadelphia area.
I am also well versed in computer recording software and DAWs. I teach students how to use software programs such as Logic and Reason as well as notation software like Sibelius and Finale. With some basic training in these programs, I can teach a student how to effectively record and produce professional quality recordings so that a student can write, record, and produce their own music.

I teach music. The guitar just happens to be the particular instrument I choose. Music as a language, discipline, and art, is the goal. I've been teaching, performing, studying, composing, for some thirty years. I've studied and gigged in the classical, jazz, rock, blues, and country idioms. I've taught composition and improvisation to instruments other than guitar, (vocalists, fiddle, sax, piano, trumpet) I've taught all ages and levels. I currently pursue a doctorate of music in guitar at university. Students learn many things when studying with me. They learn physically how to play a particular instrument while learning music as its own language. Students learn how to learn, learn self-discipline, and access their musical expression, all life changing experiences.

Hi, my name is Patrick. I've studied piano since age 10 (classical, and more recently jazz) and even at that age I would write my own songs and compositions. I started studying music theory in high school 6 years ago. This has informed my study of composition, as well as every instrumental practice undertaken since that time. 5 years ago I took my banjo to Sarah Lawrence College and started learning to play. I quickly joined the school's Bluegrass Ensemble, which fast-tracked my practice and enhanced my understanding of the idiom. My compositions, arrangements, and performances have appeared in theatre productions (Hartford Stage, Manhattan Theatre Source), several student films and dance pieces, and at music venues in New York (Carnegie Hall, Goodbye Blue Monday). For the past year I've been working with children at the Sarah Lawrence Early Childhood Center, and most recently at MoonSoup, an early childhood center in midtown Manhattan.

My fascination with creating music began in High School. I received an acoustic guitar from one uncle and was taught a handful of chords by another and I was off and running, eventually trading in my elementary school cello for an electric guitar (not the most original story I'm sure).

After playing in my first band right after High School I was certain of what I wanted to do. Eventually switching to bass for my second serious band I decided to abandon the universe of self taught guitar and bass and began taking private bass lessons as well as piano at the local community college.
