I am a second year music education major at San Diego State University, specializing in voice. I have six years experience in music and four and a half years experience playing woodwind instruments in a high school and college band environment. Also have experience working with high school level students at a local school, teaching both the band as a whole and individuals working on technique and musicality.
I specialize in beginning woodwinds, including double reed instruments. My major wind instrument is flute, which I can teach from beginner to intermediate levels. Singing is also from a beginning to intermediate level. Piano, also an introductory level. I could also tutor music theory.

My journey in music began when I was around 5 years old and first heard the children's choir sing in church. My mother used to tell me that I would beg her to let me sing in the choir but she would always have to tell me I wasn't old enough. As soon as I was old enough, she enrolled me in church choir and I've been in it ever since.
I have performed with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Chorale, Rochester Community Band, Rochester Civic Music Ensembles, a few church choirs, Lake of the Isles Community Band, church orchestra and performed Handel's Messiah at Carnegie Hall in New York City. I've acted and sung in a few plays as well.
As I got older, I discovered playing the clarinet was fun but never gave up singing. I just did them both. After becoming proficient on clarinet, I explored flute, oboe, saxophone and lastly, the Celtic harp.
My philosophy on teaching is "you are never too old to experience the joy of making music on whatever instrument you choose and I will strive to help you discover your hidden musical talents".
During my 20+ years of teaching, I've had many students perform with local youth orchestras, receive superior ratings in high school music competitions, win concerto competitions, be excepted to perform with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra in their playing with the pros program and go on to college to major or minor in music.

I have fourteen years of music teaching experience and can help you achieve your goals.
