I have been playing, writing and recording music for over sixteen years. I hold a Bachelor's degree in music production from McNally Smith College of Music in St Paul, MN.I am available to teach guitar, bass, and voice with an emphasis on creativity. My specialty is looking at the bigger picture of music, taking the technical skill you acquire on your instrument and using that as a tool for composition, improvisation and performance.

I have been making music for over 15 years. I have a diverse background. I started out sampling, and sequencing all types of music back in the 90's. I made dance music, hiphop, RnB, rock, etc. I was more of a producer than performer then. Then I decided to go to school and get a degree in music. I went to Cal State San Marcos and obtained my bachelors in music. I developed into a fingerstyle guitarist while I was there. I also learned how to play the piano while I was there. But I concentrated on the acoustic guitar.

Tom graduated from Tufts University in Boston with a B.A. in Music. Rob is a graduate of University of the Arts, with a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Music Education.

At University of the Arts, Rob studied under Don Glanden, Justin Bineck, and Jeff Kern. Prior to attending University of the Arts, he studied jazz performance and piano under Bruce Williamson, Nicholas Brooks, and Milford Graves at Bennington College.

In addition to teaching, Rob is active as a pianist, composer, and has composed solo piano works influenced by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Ravel.

Rob's recent collaborations include KC Quilty, Yogyakarta's Finest, the Jesse-Bartlett Webber Quintet, the Reverent TJ McGlinchey Band, the PhilaPhunk, and Ton-Taun. He has served in leadership roles in UArts competition big bands, the Rick Kerber Tribute Ensemble and the Z Big Band.

I hold a Music and English degree from Hamline University, but that doesn’t make me a good teacher. I’ve played professionally for over 25 years, have taught English as a Second Language, Hockey and Audio Engineering, taught people age 5 to 75, and have taught private music lessons full time in Linden Hills for the past 8 years – but this doesn’t make me a good teacher. What makes me a good teacher is that I have an infectious love of music and a passionate commitment to helping people. I have owned my own home in Linden Hills for 7 years and I love living here and being a part of the community. Hello, my name is Brian and I am currently studying my Bachelor's in Music Education at VanderCook College of Music. It is the only college in the world that specializes in specifically Music Education, and has been since 1909. The school teaches us a basic understanding of 17 instruments and voice, while also teaching theory, aural skills, music history, professional ed courses, and includes a large number of various ensembles.
