My experiences have been far-reaching . I was trained formally as a concertise of the classical guitar. I studied at the Cleveland Music School Settlement and at the Cleveland State University before my sojourn to Vienna, Austria where I was accepted as a student at the Academie for Music and Performing Arts, arriving there at the age of 19, becoming a protege of Luise Walker-Hesjek.

I have been a teacher of guitar since my High School days.

I am a formidable teacher of the concert classical guitar and also am an excellent educator of blues and jazz music. I am a classically trained singer and pianist. I have a Vocal Performance degree from Georgia State University, and I have performed professionally both as a singer and as a pianist. I have loved music as long as I can remember. I began studying piano at the age of six, and I have been singing as long as she can remember.

Although I have classical degree, I have experience performing in a variety of musical styles including musical theater, popular music, and jazz. Performance experience includes roles in operas, musical theater, theme parks such as Six Flags Over Georgia, performing as a church soloist, and singing back-up for singers such as Kenny Loggins and George Benson. Hi! My name is Elisabeth, aka Libby to my friends. I teach piano and voice lessons both in my apt in Park Slope and at your house. 

I'm primarily trained as an opera singer, but I also love working on musical theater (it was my gateway drug into opera!). My little sister is a wonderful singer- songwriter, and she got me interested in helping people sing well while playing their guitars.

I also love teaching piano lessons. I try to keep them fun and give you a good base technique at the same time. At your first lesson, we'll be talking about kitten villages and bouncing around the keyboard with balloons. It's a little zany, but it works, and we always have fun!

I have been teaching guitar for over a decade and love doing it. Before we get into how you can succeed as a guitarist here is a little background about me. I grew up in a small town and began playing guitar at age 12. I was taught a few chords from friends and tried to learn songs from tabs on the Internet. After a couple years I realized the need for formal training, so I began taking classical guitar lessons. I was introduced to formal music instruction and my abilities really blossomed. I became enamored with the guitar, and music as a whole, and decided to pursue music as a profession. I attended University of Colorado at Denver and received a Bachelors in Jazz Guitar performance.

My purpose as a teacher is realize my students' goals. I believe that to teach children is to be entrusted with part of child-rearing. Because of this, I strive to raise self-esteem as well as inspire them towards musical excellence! I do this with much positive reinforcement . With more advanced students I include self-evaluation and discussion with the student so that they can become involved in their own development and musicianship.

I made my Broadway debut with the original cast of Disney & Cameron Mackintosh’s hit musical Mary Poppins and became Broadway's second Mary, flying over the heads and into the hearts of Broadway audiences for over 100 performances.  I left that production to join the original cast of the highly acclaimed Broadway revival of Ragtime.  

I continue to cross the country representing Walt Disney Productions in national concert appearances. I have also has appeared on The Today Show, The View, the 2007 Tony Awards Show, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I have sung for the annual Broadway on Broadway Concert in Times Square, Broadway Sings for Toys and the Fred Ebb Awards.   Recently, I was seen at The Maltz Jupiter Theatre as Hope in Anything Goes, and in the title role of the musical, Gypsy, in the premiere production of the new North Shore Music Theatre, as Mary Poppins in the  televised 2010 IKEA Thanksgiving Day Parade and the 2011 Walt Disney World Christmas...

I have been a voice teacher for over twenty- five years. My background includes ten years of classical training with Maestro Julio Berrocal as well as vocal technique through the Feldekrais approach with Marcy Lindhiemer. In acting I have studied with renowned Stanislavsky scholar Sonia Moore and with Master Theater of the Strasberg Method, Marcia Haufrecht. Originating from Seattle, WA, I (married to a piano teacher) am a 20-something professional vocalist with a broad range of experience. Having professionally performed everything from opera to beat-boxing (it's true!), I can teach all styles. With a Bachelor of Music (Musical Theater) from Belmont University I am more than qualified to teach with a well supported foundation. As a professional singer in New York I know the importance of well supported talent, abounding confidence, and an excellent teacher.

My name is Joe and I work in NYC as a Lead Guitarist, Musical Director and Actor. I have recorded, toured, and performed for most of my life. Music has taken me to other parts of the world and I share what I've learned to my students so they can enjoy and experience music like I have.
At 16 years of age, I began formal tutoring from G.I.T. graduates and studied at numerous guitar seminars and workshops. By 22 I had my first record deal in Germany.

I fell in love with teaching music while a student myself! I am an alumnus of the University of Michigan, where I received a Masters of Music in 2007, and a Bachelors of Music in 2006. While there, I began teaching at my private vocal studio and studying vocal pedagogy. Since graduation, I have continued teaching privately in New York. I love what I do. I find it so fulfilling to give my students the tools that they need to succeed and watch them achieve their goals.

I have performed in both the US and internationally on a professional level. As a performer I am comfortable in a range of repertoire: Musical Theater, Jazz, Opera, Pop, Folk and other genres.
