Having grown up in a musical household (my father owned a guitar shop on Long Island, my mother sang all over in soul/motown/classic rock outfits), it was logical to start speaking the same language. After spending 5 years on trombone and a few years of piano lessons, developing my love for music as well as the knowledge of how to communicate with others through it, I found my home as a bass player as early as 5th grade. From Symphony Hall to Pit Orchestras at Berkshire Theatre Festival (America's 2nd oldest regional theater), from musical retreats in Nashville with 5-time grammy winner Victor Wooten to touring Europe in a rock band, I exposed myself to every kind of music I could get my hands on (and still do!). I moved to New York to get a degree in theatre as a singer and actor. Since then I've been fortunate enough to work in new york pit orchestras, tour with independent artists, work as a session musician and play with some of the best musicians in town.

After graduating from Ithaca College with degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education I spent three years teaching music in public schools. During that time I taught Kindergarten - 4th grade, as a long term substitute, and then 6th - 8th Grade Chorus to 430 students. During my time teaching my program grew at a rate of 30% annually compared to the band and orchestra who struggled to gain 5%. I attribute this success to my style of teaching which is accessible to everyone.

No matter the age, I will find out about what you are interested in besides music and use that as a hook to help you understand what's going on in our lessons. Although I am tough, because I want you to get the most out of your time, I am positive and love to laugh.

I am a graduate student in classical music studies at NYU. I am trained in opera, jazz, and musical theater styles. My mission is to present a healthy, natural, and powerful sound for all voice types and music styles.

I grew up just south of Nashville, TN and have been singing for most of my life. I began as a boy soprano in the choirs at church, then youth choir, middle school choirs and shows. Then during high school, where I was really bit with the singing bug, I was in every musical I could audition for, and I sang in the select choir for all four years. Around age 16 I began taking voice lessons myself, which prepared me for college auditions. I started my musical training as a pianist at YAMAHA institute at age 4 in Japan. I was selected to enter perfect pitch class. It was designated for students who have perfect pitch and potentials to be professional musicians.

I enjoyed playing piano and electric piano and won the 1st prize at Kitakantou Electric Piano Competition hosted by YAMAHA institute. Because of the intensive training, I have been accompanying my students' recitals and performance exams.

I have performed at multiple venues in New York City, including Carnegie Hall and Off-Broadway. I studied opera performance and musical theater at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and acting at Primary Stages. I made my Broadway debut with the original cast of Disney & Cameron Mackintosh’s hit musical Mary Poppins and became Broadway's second Mary, flying over the heads and into the hearts of Broadway audiences for over 100 performances.  I left that production to join the original cast of the highly acclaimed Broadway revival of Ragtime.  

I continue to cross the country representing Walt Disney Productions in national concert appearances. I have also has appeared on The Today Show, The View, the 2007 Tony Awards Show, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
