I'm a professional composer, teacher, and pianist - and I like to keep active doing all three throughout my community. My piano and composition lessons are very in-depth, but also very flexible. Because of my thorough knowledge and experience with music, I can teach all ages, skill levels, and an array of important subjects - including piano, ear-training, music theory, improvisation, composition, creativity, music history, ethnomusicology, and percussion. I cater to each student's interests as well as incorporate many of these subjects into my piano lessons so that every student gains a thorough understanding of music and becomes a well-rounded musician.

I started taking Suzuki piano lessons when I was 5 and quickly fell in love with the piano. I was turned onto music at a very young age. My mother played piano and all my siblings also played at least one instrument. I guess you could say we had a pretty musical family. When I was in the 4th grade my mom decided it was time for me to start learning an instrument and enrolled me into piano lessons. Later I would end up learning several instruments before landing on the drums. My experiences in learning other instruments have helped shape me as the musician that I am today. When I started drums I was in high school and I did the marching band, orchestra and music theatre. I was also playing in a lot of garage bands with many of my friends. After high school I went to college for music and quickly found myself participating in many musical projects. I am the drummer & percussionist for Juno Award-winning, Canadian band, The Paperboys, touring regularly in Europe as well as the US and Canada. I make my home in the historic Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, where I teach drummers of all ages. Greetings everyone, my name is Simon. I am a drummer, percussionist, live performer, song writer, and music teacher. I have actively been playing musical instruments and live shows since the age of four. Growing up in a highly encouraged artistic musical environment provided me with a great love and passion for learning and playing music. As time went on I focused on learning instruments such as the guitar, bass guitar, piano, trumpet, French horn, voice/singing, various percussive instruments, steel drums, xylophone, and the drums.
