Hello students and parents! I'm Carlos, I won't bore you with a lengthy description of myself, but I'll tell you a bit about my teaching background, education and why I love teaching music!

I received a BM in Trumpet Performance and Bio-musicology (how music affects the brain/body) from San Diego State University.

I have had over 10 years experience in Music Education and Trumpet Performance, I have performed with a wide range of distinguished groups all across California, from the Tulare County Symphony to San Diego's Own Westwind Brass Quintet. As a passionate music educator, I spend my free time teaching music to children of impoverished communities in Ecuador.

As founder and director of S.A.H.L.U.D.'s Music Education program (a non-profit organization) my team of dedicated music educators and I travel abroad to share the gift of music with others that are less fortunate.

I've studied Classical guitar technique with Fred Benedetti, and the world renowned Celino Romero, and I've also gotten to know big stars in the Heavy Metal world such as Kerry King, and Alex Webster. The most amazing thing that I have discovered, is that this immaculate Classical guitar technique handed down through the Romero family can be applied to any style of guitar or bass playing. I have been teaching and performing in the San Diego area for many years and have used that experience to develop lessons for any level of player. My program emphasizes all around musicianship in addition to technical ability. Being a musician is more than simply learning repertoire. I help my students get the skills needed to be capable, independent performers. While studying at UCSD, I was awarded double honors for my work in Guitar Performance and Composition. In 2010, I was given awards for "Most Outstanding Graduating Senior" and "Outstanding Classical Music Performance". In January of this year, my latest ensemble piece "Bell Music" was given its premiere in Zurich, Switzerland by Ensemble TaG.

Francesca has over 20 years of experience polishing her guitar talents. While working towards her BA in Music Education and English, she carried a full teaching roster with over 30 students and still managed a 4.0 GPA from Cal State University at Los Angeles. Francesca's musical dexterity has taken her touring in four continents and has allowed her to perform with some of the most prestigious artists in the industry, including the Donald Briniger Singers, her own pop/rock bands Minor Setback and Franki and the Ntelegents, and even playing the banjo in The Three Penny Opera.

Francesca started teaching music at the early age of 16 with great success. She was on the faculty at California Music Academy, Cornelia Connelly High School, Pasadena Saturday Music Conservatory, and Sawday and Holmes Music and she has taught classrooms of up to 70 choir students. I hold a BA in Music Education with an emphasis in piano performance. My experience includes accompanying choirs, small groups, and soloists; playing keyboard in a band; performing in a duo piano ensemble for community functions; performing as part of an orchestra; and playing keyboard in the studio.

I began teaching in high school, when my first students were neighbor children, and I discovered the satisfaction the comes with introducing music into people's lives. I enjoy teaching all ages. My students have ranged from beginners to advanced. My students (and their parents) comment on my patience and enthusiasm. I welcome more students to inspire with a love a music!

I am currently working with autistic individuals using music and musical instruments as a tool. I am the drummer in the Lenny Fuzzy Rankins Band better known as fuzzy and the Bluesman. I also have my own group called Smooth Groove where I drum and sing. I have been playing drums for 40 years and have been singing for just as long. I have been playing professionally for 30 years. I produced Jacob Lusk one of American Idols finalist from last season 2011. I have been a songwriter for most of my life. I Also teach songwriting and I teach how to use recording software (Protools, Logic Pro and Reason.

Jill graduated from SDSU in 2010 with a Bachelor's of Music degree in Vocal Performance. She has been studying voice for 10 years now, and also grew up playing violin, viola, and piano since age 8. Jill currently maintains a multi-faceted career as a classically-trained soprano soloist, choir director, and private music instructor. She hopes to achieve a Masterʼs degree in Speech Pathology within the next few years, and has a passionate and serious commitment to teach healthy singing and piano technique to students of all ages!

Kimberly is originally from Chattanooga, TN where she began taking violin lessons at age 6. She spent several years playing with the Chattanooga Youth Symphony and appeared as a soloist during her senior year in high school. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Cedarville University, her Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Northern Colorado, her D.M. from Florida State University, and recently completed a second Master’s Degree from Kent State University with a focus in Chamber Music under the coaching of the Miami String Quartet. Along with playing second violin in the Aidan Quartet, Kim has performed in several orchestras including the Greeley Philharmonic, Fort Collins Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, and the Tallahassee Symphony. She was also the violin coach for the Tallahassee Youth Symphony, and strings instructor at two elementary schools in the area. She has attended the National Orchestral Institute for 3 summers,...

Not only do I love chess and running marathons, but I also have three degrees in drums and percussion (Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate). I have ten years experience as a performer (including playing drums on a GRAMMY nominated album) with orchestras, touring big bands (Jimmy Dorsey, Five-By-Design), professional productions (Carnival Cruise Lines, amusement parks), jazz artists, and rock bands. I have also toured solo as a classical marimbist. Although I have a strong foundation in rudimental and jazz drumming, I also have roots in West African drumming, Cuban and Brazilian styles, and polka.

I have taught percussion lessons, percussion classes for band directors, jazz ensembles, percussion ensembles, and drum lines at Kansas State University, The University of Southern Mississippi, The University of Wisconsin Stout, and dozens of high schools. Jordan was born and raised in the El Centro, California where he began playing the alto sax in the elementary band program. At the age of 12, he began his study of guitar and drums, performing in several rock and ska bands around his home town and San Diego. At age 14, is where he found his love for brass instruments when he took up the trombone. While in high school he became a featured soloist with the Imperial Valley College Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of the legendary trumpeter Jimmy Cannon. It was this that lead Jordan to accept the Constance Weldon Music Scholarship to attend the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.

I began playing the violin and piano when I was 4 years old. My mother was a piano teacher for over 30 years with contagious passion for music and her students, so with training in perfect pitch, sight-reading, and other musicianship skills, I began performing solo and in ensembles. I soon became an assistant teacher, beginning my own private lessons. Since elementary school, I've been a part of the church choir, school band, and orchestra. As I entered high school, I decided to become more active and take leadership in the ensembles. I became the Concert Mistress of the symphonic and string orchestra and held onto my first chair until graduation. I also participated in the San Jose Philharmonic Orchestra, as first violinist.
