Subjects Taught Violin
About Me
I’m a passionate musician who wants to help students realize all the potential they have within themselves. I hold a Bachelor’s of Music on Violin from the Wheaton Conservatory and a Master’s of Music on Violin from California State, Sacramento. I recently returned from four years of teaching at Sias University in Xinzheng City, China. There I served as the concertmaster of the Sias Symphony Orchestra and was part of the String faculty at the Sias School of Music from 2009 until 2011. At Sias I taught in both English and Chinese and I hope that my Mandarin Chinese skills will help me communicate with students and families coming from a Chinese background in the Seattle area.
Student Feedback
Melissa S, Superb teacher and musician alike!
I had outgrown my previous violin teacher's musical capability and found Andrew through TakeLessons. In just about 2 months he has transformed my technique (and still is!) and I feel like 5x the better violinist. I highly recommend him to any violinist looking for progression and success.

Patricia H, Great mentor and violinist
Andrew has be a great partner in my return to violin. I came back to violin after a few years away and really needed someone to help refamiliarize myself with my instrument. Andrew is obviously a passionate violinist and is very graciously working with me to incorporate methods and styles I've already ingrained with his own. He gives a fresh perspective to violin and I very much appreciate his vision. Just in general Andrew's a teacher with amazing amounts of patience who makes it a priority to understand what works best for each student. It's been a pleasure working with him!
