I began playing electric bass in 1984 performing in rock bands in the late 1980's to the present. When I began my formal education in 2006 I realized the importance of understanding chord structure/theory and began a love of studying guitar. Studying music theory and music composition/arranging completed my understanding musical concepts and how they apply directly to the instrument.

I discovered music sifting through my Dad's record collection and soon decided that I wanted to play guitar. As a teenager I began taking lessons and building confidence in my abilities. I played in different types of bands ranging from rock, country, blues, and jazz. After completing College in 2003, I realized music was not just going to be a hobby, but a career. At age 31, I have been teaching and playing guitar professionally for the last eight years. I believe that anybody can learn to play as long as they are patient and understand that anything worthwhile takes time and sustained effort to achieve. You also need a good teacher who understands how to take you where you want to go musically. I have taught over a hundred different students of all ages and abilities. I have seen many of them grow musically and gain confidence in other areas of their lives as a result. I aim to inspire every student to find their way to a rewarding life through music.

Chrissy has expressed her passion and enjoyment of music through teaching students for the past several years. She encourages her student’s to be creative and excited about music. She believes music should be about self-expression and lessons should be tailored to the student’s interest while keeping the fundamentals and key elements of music at the forefront. Chrissy has been involved with music her entire life. She started out singing at the age of nine and was known as the little girl with the big voice. She also began playing the piano the same year and continued on to learn guitar at age eleven. This includes shows all over Maryland, Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., in which I have performed both cover and original songs.
