Fingerpicking, Rock, Improvisation, Classical Guitar, Music Theory: Beginners to Advanced Students. I've been teaching since the end of the 20th century (15 years) and have had the incredible experience of watching hundreds of students, children and adults, find their musical ability.

I've developed fun and rewarding methods for learning the instrument. I use teaching methods that incorporate a solid foundation of music theory, sight-reading, performance, composing, and ear training skills.

My name is Jordan and I have been playing and writing music for about 15 years. I have studied and performed classical guitar, rock, country and blues. While playing the guitar is one passion, writing songs is another. Both of these were studied even further while completing my B.A. at Berklee College of Music in Boston MA. I have played over 150 dates in the last year and have performed in front of more that 3,000 people. I love music, the creative process, and I especially love watching students grow into their own artistry with the techniques we learn in our lessons.

I love music. Playing it, learning it and teaching it. My aim as a music teacher is to share the passion that I have for music with you and help you find your own love for it. I will help you learn how to play the guitar and understand chords, the fretboard and the theory of it all so you can create your own music. My goal is to make it fun, interesting and challenging for each and every student. You will be playing the guitar within the first two lessons with me as your teacher. Through practice and a positive attitude, you will find a love and a passion for the guitar that will make you want to practice and improve more through each and every lesson.

I'm a certified elementary educator and professional musician with decades of experience and a tremendous passion for music. I moved 2,000 miles from my home in Boise, ID to be part of the thriving music community of Austin TX. Along the way I've played with such legends as the Flatlanders, Charlie Robison, Alejandro Escovedo, Chuck Prophet, Kelly Willis, Jimmy LaFave and many others. I've toured all over the world as a member of major-label acts and as a solo artist. I've produced albums for several recording artists and have had my own songs recorded and released numerous times.

What all this translates to is that I have a lifetime of experience in the music world that I'd love to share with those interested in learning more. I have been playing guitar since August 1992. I cut my teeth on the alternative music that was popular at the time (Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Nirvana) but soon began to focus on earlier movements, specifically the playing styles and mindsets of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Eric Clapton. I formed a band in 1996 and began gigging in Austin and throughout Texas. During this time, I immersed myself in jazz and did everything I could to bring the sonic palettes of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis into my playing, even taking up saxophone and piano in order to better understand what they were doing.

My name is Felipe and I am a graduate of the University of North Texas where I studied Music Theory and am classically trained at the guitar. I am currently persuing my master's degree at Texas State University. I can play many instruments and love helping others learn how to play and have fun.

My introduction to music was when I got a drum set my sophomore year of high school. I taught myself to play by playing along with my favorite bands like Pearl Jam, the Smashing Pumpkins and the Beatles. I started teaching myself to play the guitar two years later during my senior year of high school. Soon after, I learned how to play electric bass, ukulele and mandolin. Since then, I have played in many garage bands and pursued an education in music.

I been playing the guitar professionally for over 20 years. In that time I had the good fortune to perform and record with some really good musicians. I' ve played in various bands ranging from rock to jazz and flamenco. I received my bachelor's degree in recording engineer and record producer from LBCC.

I started my musical career soon after I picked up the guitar at the age of
thirteen. Shortly after gaining proficiency on my instrument, I began composing
short classical guitar pieces and made arrangements of popular Christian songs for the
guitar. My performing and compositional talents have inspired me to write for the
guitar. I hold a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Composition and a
Master’s of Music in Guitar Performance from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
During my studies I received the Reed Holmes Memorial Award for
Composition and was a finalist in the University of Texas at San Antonio 10th and 11th
Annual Concerto and Aria Competitions and an Honorable Mention in the El Paso
Symphony Guild Concerto Competition. I'm also a member of the Phi Kappa Lambda
