About Alexander

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide instruction and any material (such as music, tabs, scales, etc) necessary.
I expect the student to have a guitar (non-specific) and an open mind.

*** Specialties ***
I particularly enjoy teaching classical guitar, as it engages the student and requires more preparation on my end. However, I will teach any genre of music from country to jazz. To keep the students interest I will ask them to tell me a song or piece they would like to learn. From there I will help them to learn the piece while simultaneously assigning helpful studies and exercises.

Alex N. Bishop, GA

From basic chords and catchy tunes to complex finger picking and advanced techniques. I'll teach you how to effectively and successfully play the guitar at your own pace.

About Alex

I have 15 years experience playing guitar and drums and love nothing more than to share my knowledge of music with students who are eager to learn. My passion for music developed at an early age and has only grown from there. I have had the privilege of learning from excellent and extremely talented teachers. I enjoy playing at local venues and watching my students joyfully succeed.

Whether you have never picked up an instrument or if you just want to fine tune your musical ability, I will gladly meet you wherever you are in your musical journey. Alex is extremely patient with my son who is 9 years old. He makes it fun for him and uses music that my son loves. He took his time to ask what type of music he would like and is teaching him based on that. After only three lessons my son is really starting to pick up on basic cords. I would highly recommend Alex to anyone that is interested in learning guitar. My son really enjoys his time with him.
Ryan M. Athens, GA

All beginner lessons start with playing the instrument, getting a nice tone, understanding rhythm and pitch, and learning very basic music theory.

Intermediate lessons on the guitar focus on mastering of the chords, rhythm playing, lead playing, understanding songs and how they're written, and all with a consideration on whether you sing, are in a band, or play solo.

Advanced guitar lessons cover soloing, mastering chord construction, upper structures, harmonics, etc. Advanced lessons are heavily focused in the direction and interests of the student.

About Ryan

I graduated from Flowery Branch High School here in Flowery Branch, Georgia and was accepted to University of Miami's Frost School of Music as an undergrad for Music Business and Entertainment Industries.

While there I was given the pleasure to study under Chuck Bergeron, Don Coffman, Nicky Orta, Troy Roberts, Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey. As a bass player I practiced with the Drumming Majors during their weekly styles class, I took part in many ensembles in various styles such as the R&B ensemble, the ECM ensemble, Contemporary Jazz Techniques, and various Experiential Ensembles which covered decades of Jazz music.

As a bass player you may know Frost as the home of Jaco Pastorius, or guitarist Pat Metheny.
