Born in Arlington, Texas, I began playing guitar and bass guitar in high school. After studying for several years under Joey Faust, I studied Jazz, Classical Guitar, and Music Theory at TCC in Fort Worth. I've been teaching since 2003, my students ranging in age from 3 to over 70. I also play piano, mandolin, banjo, and ukulele.

I teach my students how to understand how music is put together so they can learn even more on their own.

I read, write, and play all styles and I focus on teaching the student fundamentals that work in all styles of music ....AND I get them going on the style they are interested in - pop, rock, country, folk, etc.

I have spent my entire life in the music industry and I can show you how to use what I teach to apply to the real world. I have also been a successful songwriter and I can work with students to learn about song structure and song writing.

I am also good at preparing students for college music classes.

I completed my Master of Music degree from the University of New Mexico in 1989 and completed 50+ hours towards a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas soon after. I am a student myself, going through my senior year as a music major at the University of North Texas in Denton. I've been playing the guitar for 8 years but pursuing music for even longer. I taught guitar lessons for 2 years in high school to all ages, and have worked at Camp Jam for 2 summers during my college career, teaching young kids to play in rock bands. I took composing classes and lessons and advanced classical guitar in college, and I also play the piano and the cello, so I've been going to private lessons all my life and know what students are looking for.
