Over the past six years I have privately instructed over fifty students, many of which have been accepted to prestigious camps and ensembles such as:

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe that every students has more potential then they realize. My goal is to help bring out their potential while providing a professional, personal, and enjoyable experience. I give my best and I expect my students to do the same.

My background is in classical music and this provides a solid foundation to successfully transition into all genres of music. During a standard lesson, I will begin with vocal warm-ups, sight reading and ear training exercises. The bulk of the lesson will consist of teaching them to sing correctly, melodic expressions, and performance showmanship. 90% of singing is feeling and 10% is technique...meaning you have to feel how things are done with your body correctly to understand and continue to model the correct and safe way to sing any style of music. I finish every lesson with constructive criticism, positive reinforcement, and a quick summary of how to prepare at home for the next lesson.

My teaching philosophy is that a great teacher is measure by the success of their students. I understand that each student learns differently, therefore, I always adjust my teaching style to meet the needs of the individual students.

About Me

Hello! Welcome to my profile.

My name is Kailey, and I'm 24 years old. I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a degree in Music (concentration in Voice). I have taken voice lessons ever since the age of 13. I've learned many things along my journey, and I would love to help singers realize their full potential.

I have a full time job in downtown Dallas, but I teach after work and on weekends. I also teach lessons online!

Singing is and always will be my passion!

*** THE LESSON ***

I am a very easy going person. I like to be kind and understanding to people, especially students.

Here is what you can expect from a lesson with me:
Kindness
Support
Encouragement
Understanding

Each lesson is tailored to the student's unique needs. I use music that will suit the student's voice and experience level, and will help the student to improve in certain areas.

My lessons are all about doing things right. I focus on correct breathing, posture, etc, and help the student to learn what to listen for and feel in their own voice.

And above all, I strive to make my lessons enjoyable!

*** THE STUDIO ***

The In-Studio lessons are taught in a front room with a piano and seating.

I have two very sweet cats, but they are kept in a different part of the house during lessons.

I live on a cul-de-sac with parking in front.

*** SPECIALTIES ***

I strive to break bad habits, teach correct singing, and establish good technique. I have taught opera and pop styles, though I'm open to anything! My main focus is to get the student to sing correctly and efficiently. After that, style choice can come into play. With the correct technique, you can sing anything!

With 35 years of music-related experience, Danaila is in her 15th year of working as a professional musician and teacher. She has experience teaching from 5-year-old to 55-year-old students, from the beginners to advanced students. Born in Bulgaria, Danaila began her formal music studies at the age of 5 with piano and theory lessons. She won her first prize performing piano when she was 10 years old. Her passion for singing took her to participate actively at children’s and youth choirs. As a soloist singer for a National Choir she traveled all around Europe, performing in France, Holland, Germany, Hungary, Greece inter alia. Danaila earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Master’s Degree in Voice Pedagogy in Bulgaria, both with honors, and received a special mention as outstanding student. *** Lesson Details ***
I am a loving, very patient, passionate and enthusiastic teacher. I like to motivate, encourage and enjoy the fun making music together.
All lessons are absolutely personalized and based on the student’s age, level and capacity. They are structured and focused for improving skills and achieving student's individual goals.
Students will learn how to prepare and use the body to its utmost capability as a complete instrument and resonator system; how to take and manage the proper breath for a maximum efficiency; how to use the appropriate position to guarantee a healthy sound production and singing technique that will protect and improve the individual voice and last for a lifetime.
Another part of the lesson is focused on selected repertoire: how to approach, understand and perform a specific vocal piece. If you are an advanced student you will be also taught diction in Italian, German, Spanish, Latin and Russian (depends of your needs).
I highly recommend to students to record themselves during the lesson because audio recordings and video recordings are great ways for apprentices to learn by observing their mistakes and strengths.

The piano lessons are focused in building and improving the right technique using special exercises and proper repertoire. I am familiar with many of the Piano Teaching Methods and will recommend the best for you according to your age, level and goals. Learning and playing pieces from different periods and composers is important to develop artistic sensitivity as a performer.
I specialize in classical training and I believe that a strong background in classical music is important for any musician, regardless of their musical preferences.

About Me

I've been a musician for a very long time and can testify that music heals on a mind, body, and soul level! Though my official performances in front of audiences started with playing woodwind instruments such as clarinet, sax, and flute from elementary school through high school in band, my primary instrument in earnest has been voice for the past 27 years.

However, my Mom told me that I have actually been singing--well, humming (a recognizable tune at that!)-- since I was nine months old. I've lead numerous solos in small ensembles and large choirs over the years, and am very involved not only with the adult music ministry at my church, but direct our children's choir. I'm a huge fan of arranging and creating harmonies for duets, trios, and small groups. I‚¬Ä¬ôve shared the stage with Erykah Badu, Ruben Studdard, Rickey Dillard, Chrisette Michele, Ledisi, and CeCe Winans.

I love musical theater, and my favorite credit has to have been when I played the role of "Mama" in Once on This Island (though Nunsense runs a very close second!).

I have a strong passion for the arts--music in particular, and have the musical talent and enthusiasm to guide, empower, and improve the vocal tone, projection, and pitch for the willing student.

*** Lesson Details ***
Every student is different--diversity is the spice of life! I tend to tailor my teaching style to the needs of the student. I do expect each student to work on their craft outside of "class" (even if it's just 10-15 minutes of practice a day) and come eager to learn. My teaching style is a co-creative process when it comes to helping students reach their goals. My demeanor is gentle and humor-filled, yet firm. Whether you're preparing for an audition (with all the mental, emotional, and physical energy and health that goes into it), want to hone your harmonizing skills, or just want to strengthen what's already inside of you to the next level for fun, I can help!

It's very important for my students to have a lot of fun as they are singing into their power and gaining more confidence not only in their vocal tone, projection and pitch, but in life as a whole!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Dining room w/ piano and seating for parents

*** Specialties ***
My specialties are gospel, pop, R&B, vocal harmonies in small and large groups, and jazz, though I have been classically trained by some of the best vocal coaches over the years.

About Me

I am a Doctoral student at the University of North Texas with 3 years of experience teaching college level students as a Teaching Fellow in Voice at UNT. I currently work with HEB ISD and BISD teaching private lessons to Junior High age students. I enjoy working with a variety of age groups, styles and skill levels. I have extensive experience as a recitalist, church soloist and as an opera singer and I specialize in classical voice. I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and the College Music Society (CMS).

*** Lesson Details ***
I teach all styles and types of music and I always want my students to really connect with and enjoy the songs they sing. I like all my students to have a good foundation in the 'basics' of good voice production. No matter what kind of music, the fundamentals of posture and good breath support are the first things I address with any new student. I use vocal exercises tailored to the individual student's needs and goals. After the first 3 months or so a committed student will improve their breath control and coordination and improve the strength and stamina of their voice. I find that personal confidence in all areas of life is improved by the process of understanding and developing the voice.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room w/ electronic keyboard, laptop, and seating for parents

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide my own copies of music. Student should provide their own copy of any music or books necessary. Student should provide a piano or keyboard for lessons involving music (not necessary for speech).

*** Specialties ***
*Teachers marked as a Student Favorite have taught a minimum of 25 lessons and have received the highest feedback rating from students.I enjoy teaching all styles, from pop and rock, jazz and blues to Broadway and classical voice. As a performer I specialize in classical/operatic singing including choral styles.

Clarinet, Guitar, Oboe, Piano, Singing

About Me

I have been a music teacher and private lesson instructor for the past 17 years. I have a bachelor of science degree in Music Education and hold a teaching certificate for all-level Music Education. In my private studio I have taught students from 3-70 and have enjoyed them all! In addition to teaching music I also serve as the Music Minister for my church. Students coming to me can expect a tremendous amount of experience as well as a committed, honest and caring teacher.

*** Lesson Details ***
For beginning piano students I like to use the Alfred series, supplemented, of course, with songs/styles of music that interest the student.

Guitar, clarinet, and oboe students can expect to begin with the Essential Elements series as a primer and introduction. I've had a lot of success with these books.

Voice students are a bit different in that I don't use a specific method to instruct. I have many books that I draw from when teaching voice due to the unique nature of the individual. Depending on the style of music, from classical to jazz/pop, I have music that will teach proper breath support, vowel placement and tone.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Home studio: converted dining room with 3 guitars, young percussion instruments, upright piano and f/w keyboard. Seating available for parents.
Music ministry at First Christian Church in Terrell. Access to choir room with upright piano. Seating available for parents.

*** Specialties ***
Degree in all-level music education with specialty in voice.
