In the 20 years I've been playing guitar and drums, I've done quite a bit. In the past, I toured quite extensively with my band, playing with the likes of All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, blessthefall, Alesana, Soulfly and many others (for all you metal and post hardcore fans). I've been teaching independently since 2002 and with music store affiliation since 2006. I've also played countless corporate events and weddings as a pickup musician with Murray Hill Talent in Boston. As the experience piles on, so do the real world inspired lessons and tips.
I have a degree in Professional Music. I currently play in the math-rock/post-hardcore/emo group I Kill Giants and Hip hop/neo soul/funk band Pet Jail. In addition, I have also played for various other musical projects and performs his own solo work.
When it comes to teaching, I have a very open mind to any kind of students needs. I make sure a student truly understands a concept before they leave the lesson. I also tailor my teaching style to each students needs to make them as comfortable as possible.

I'm a very friendly and easygoing instructor. My philosophy in teaching music is to show the student musical elements that can be put into practice right away, which can be used in a context to have a solid reference of the progress made.

I am an all around musician who loves to share my knowledge and passion for music with others. I find it just as important to know how to teach someone as it is to know about the instrument you are teaching.
As far as my performance experience, I have a Masters in World Music Performance from California Institute of the Arts and a Bachelors in Percussion Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College (Ithaca, NY). I has also studied traditional Irish music at the University of Limerick (Ireland). I have been a guest drum set soloist with the San Diego State Javanese Gamelan and a guest musician with the Yelle-Belle Dance Ensemble in New York City. I have collaborated with such artists as Barry Goldberg (Bob Dylan), Bonnie Pointer (The Pointer Sisters/Solo Artist), James Galway (flute soloist), and Alex Del Zoppo (Sweetwater). I hav enjoyed performing with ensembles in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and REDCAT. My teachers include Gordon Stout, Alan Abel, Tim Genis, Tom Gauger, John Bergamo, John Joe Kelly, and Randy Gloss. I was the Principal Timpanist for the West Covina Symphony from 2008-2010. Danilo is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Long Island, New York and currently based out of Boston. He has been involved in many successful projects along the east coast. Danilo is a current member of Full Tang and Debo Band. He has also been a member of internationally acclaimed Afrobeat group The Superpowers and had toured extensively playing percussion with indie-rock band Rubblebucket.
Danilo has studied classical trumpet performance at the New England Conservatory of Music with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra as well as percussion and drums with other esteemed faculty members (Rakalam Bob Moses, Jamey Haddad). In addition to his conservatory training, Danilo has studied traditional West African drumming at the Dagbe Cultural Center in Kopeyia, Ghana.
Danilo's performance opportunities have taken him from Boston's Jordan Hall to numerous locations in New York (Alice Tully Hall, Cornelia St. Cafe FONT music series), and more extensive tours to Toronto and back. His repertoire includes orchestral, church service, dance music, completely improvised music and original compositions.
Education has long been a passion for Danilo and he has been teaching private music lessons as well as instruction in the Boston public schools for years. In addition to his studio, which is comprised of primarily brass and percussion instrumentalists, he teaches general musicianship in areas such as improvisation, body awareness, composition, music theory, solfege, and music history. Danilo teaches all levels and ages 5 - 100+. His students value his patience and ability to find an inspiring path to discovery for each individual. Danilo has also shown himself to be very effective in the classroom setting, having given clinics to groups of students aged first grade to high school.
Danilo considers his success as a performer to be in a direct relationship with the success of his teaching and he aims to spread to the joy of music making and appreciation as wide as possible.
