Hey There! My name is Ryan B. I play and teach guitar, bass and drums, and piano and would love to teach you or help you improve your abilities! I have been playing all four instruments for 20 years, and I have a personal, laid-back style that helps connect with each student.

I have been with TakeLessons for over a year now, and am truly blessed to have worked with so many great students!

I will teach you what YOU want to play, regardless of style or genre you like in music. I design my lessons around YOU, and what YOU want to learn!

For guitar, bass and drums, I can teach the basic beginner to the advanced. I teach electric and acoustic guitar, electric bass and acoustic and electric drums

For piano, I teach beginner levels only.

I am a graduate of Texas Woman’s University, from where I graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching, with an emphasis in Music Education. I am Texas certified and have been teaching piano for the past 12 years. I have also been a substitute teacher as well as a full time teacher in the public school system where I taught choir. Having taught in two different sections of the music education world has helped me better understand my piano students as well as grow in my teaching career. I am better able to gauge my students and find the best way to teach each individual.

I earned a Bachelor of Music Education from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory in Ohio. After Teaching Jr. and Sr. High School as well as a studio of private students, I took a job in the Music Publishing Industry and worked in the department that rented Music to performing organizations. After seven years of working for a publisher, I was offered the opportunity of working for the Dallas Symphony as an Orchestra Librarian. We prepare all the music that the Orchestra performs for all concerts. I enjoy very much working with students of all ages. My greatest delight is to see a student work hard and thrive.

I am a 2008 graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree. While at North Texas I taught trumpet lessons in the Denton area for five years. I have also taught piano, flute, clarinet, and saxophone as well as all the other brass instruments. I have performed with the UNT Concert Band, the UNT Brass Band, the UNT Nine O'Clock Lab Band, the Collin County Jazz Band, and the San Jose Metropolitan Band.

Currently, I teach clarinet, trumpet and piano in the DFW area. I also play percussion and french horn in the Frisco Community Band, french horn with the Frisco Community Brass Ensemble, and I conduct the Frisco Community Herald Trumpets.

Music has always been a part of Josh Collins. He started playing around with instruments at the age of three and singing at the age of seven. He instantly fell in love with music and grew a passion for it. At the age of five he attended his first musical concert, Garth Brooks. Josh loved every minute of it and he could see himself on a stage like Garth Brooks in the future. One day he heard someone playing guitar down in an alley and from that day forward he knew he wanted to play that instrument and it would become his specialty. In high school he played in the jazz band and was the lead guitarist. He also picked up the trumpet and played it in the jazz band. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in music w/ a piano concentration & a Master of Music in music theory degree both from the University of Maryland. I also started a Ph.D degree in music theory from the University of North Texas. I can help you become the best musician you can be & I can help you attain your goals. I believe performing is an important part of music learning, so I schedule at least 2 recitals each year. Some of my adults prefer not to perform and that is okay too. My students had a Halloween and Christmas recital recently and played so wonderfully! The more you perform, the easier it gets!

I love learning, and I love sharing how to learn. I began as a self-taught pianist at age 12, and from ages 14 to the present I have had the experience of studying with some of the most phenomenal teachers of this generation. George Katz, former chair of the Drake University Piano Department and student of the legendary artists Alfred Cortot and Marguerite Long; Jerome Lowenthal, also a student of Cortot (and William Kapell) and former chair of the Julliard piano department, and Jose Feghali, winner of the 1985 Cliburn Gold Medal have been my most influential teachers. From them, I learned how to learn, how to teach, and how to teach learning, which I believe is the most important skill.

As a winner of the 2000 Interlochen Concerto Competition, I had my orchestral debut that year with the World Youth Symphony Orchestra at 16. Following that, I have given concerts all over the U.S., some parts of Mexico, Malmo and Stockholm, Sweden, and in Copenhagen, Denmark.

I believe that music is not only a gift but a vital part of the human experience. Whether as a listener, performer, or composer it influences our society as a whole and individually. At a very early age I was exposed to all the usual classic rock and pop music of the 50's, 60's, and 70's through my parents. Having a keen interest in how this music was created I started piano lessons at age 9, cello in middle school, and then guitar and bass shortly followed. During high school and college I performed and recorded with several bands, symphonic orchestras, vocal ensembles in genres ranging from rock, pop, funk, folk, jazz, classical, and electronica. I studied music theory and composition under Dr. Jerry Wallace at Richland Community College while continuing my private lessons in guitar, bass, cello, and piano.
After college I moved to Santa Fe, NM to assist in managing Groovey Studios. I also performed and recorded with not only pop and rock artist but many Native American artist....

I have been a music teacher and private lesson instructor for the past 16 years. I have a bachelor of science degree in Music Education and hold a teaching certificate for all-level Music Education. In my private studio I have taught students from 3-70 and have enjoyed them all! In addition to teaching music I also serve as the Music Minister for my church. Hello Everybody My name is Kevin and I go by “K.P.” in this wonderful music world. Here’s a little bit about myself…. I have been playing R&B, Jazz, and Gospel piano/keys professionally for over 10yrs. I love music and have a heart to teach and build character as a musician/artist. I have toured across the U.S. and across the country from Japan to Europe playing for all types of artists in the genre’s of gospel, jazz, and R&B. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a (BAAS), and was over the University of North Texas Voices of Praise (V.O.P) Gospel Choir from 2004-2006. I also have certification degree for audio engineering/music business and production at Media Tech formally (Dallas Soundlab). From there I have gain experience in working with Grammy winning artists and musicians such as Myron Butler and Shaun Martin.
