Aaron is a wealth of music theory knowledge. I am an intermediate guitar player with a background in music, and Aaron tapped right into my level and ran with a challenging but approachable lesson tailored to me. The best part is that I know there's so much more he can offer! I look forward to a long, productive, fun, and beautiful mentorship with Aaron! L

My lessons with Arron have been extremely beneficial and I recommend him to anyone that is trying to learn or get better at playing guitar. I have been playing guitar for a while now and what I’ve learned the most from Aaron is how to slow down and practice efficiently. He has taught me many different tools for practicing musical scales and has also been able to give me the “why” to all his methods. I’ve noticed so much progress in my playing and I’m so thankful.

During guitar lessons, I will focus on learning the instrument. Students will learn how to hold it properly, picking technique, scales, music theory, ear training, and reading.
The other portion of the lesson will focus on music that the student in interested in. The student will pick a song, and then we will learn it. While learning songs, I will point out new techniques, or reinforce ones that have already been learned.
This is a very fun way to learn a new instrument!

"Rina is an awesome teacher. I have been taking guitar lessons with her for about five months, and I enjoy her lessons tremendously.
She is knowledgeable, very nice, and cares about her students. It's clear that she loves music and loves teaching.
I like that she presents just the right challenge to keep me motivated, and at the same time is honestly encouraging. She is precise and points out areas that need improvement, and notices strengths and progress.
She also tries to see what your interests are and brings in music that might appeal to you.
I have learned so much, and look forward to the lessons."

Getting Inspired: Guitar Lessons in Virginia Beach

When you watch advanced or professional musicians playing their guitars, you may think to yourself, “Wow! They make playing look so easy!” Just remember that although they are playing effortlessly now, it took them a lot of time and work to hone their skills.

Are you new to guitar lessons in Virginia Beach? Or, maybe you’ve been taking lessons for awhile but you’ve hit a wall and started feeling disillusioned? Have no fear, because there are a lot of ways to stay inspired and keep playing. Sometimes, all you need is some fresh ideas and a new environment to help you work through tough times and keep the instrument fun and exciting.

Music and a Meal

It is really hard to beat having a great meal and enjoying live music. Due to busy schedules, sometimes being able to take care of two things at once may be the only way you can get out and enjoy live music. If you take guitar lessons in Virginia Beach, you have plenty of options for going out to enjoy dinner and music.

Doc Taylors Market Lounge (http://doctaylors.com/seasidelounge.html) is largely a breakfast and lunch place, but between January and November of every year they are open Thursday night for a food and entertainment. They have featured a number of artists from many different music genres. It’s worth a visit! They might be playing music you like or a genre that has always interested you.

Woody McGees Barstro’s (http://woodymcgees.com/) goal is to give customers the lively atmosphere of a bar with the food you get at a good restaurant. Live music is important for both of these, and it is a regular part of their atmosphere.

Waterman’s Surfside Grille (http://www.watermans.com/) is a family-friendly restaurant where you can come and enjoy a typical American meal or seafood dinner. Every Friday they have either a DJ or live music, making it easy to plan your Fridays.

Live Events

For those really special nights out, you can attend a concert at one of the many different venues around Virginia Beach. The following are two of the most popular venues that attract a lot of bands with a wide array of musical talents.

Farm Bureau Live (http://www.thefarmbureaulive.com/) attracts the attention of both local and legendary bands. Check out their calendar for a list of all the music they have to offer so you can make sure to catch bands as they roll through town.

Norva (http://www.thenorva.com/) is an internationally recognized venue that features just about every kind of music under the sun. From throwback music of the 70s and 80s to modern music, you can find something to intrigue and entertain you.

Festivals

Whether you love to hangout on the beach or enjoy the city, Virginia Beach has a number of festivals every year. (http://www.visitvirginiabeach.com/visitors/events-and-entertainment/)

-The Belmont Bash celebrates the final race of the Triple Crown, and includes live music. -It started as a sandy version of Woodstock, but now Sandstock celebrates rock from the 1970s to today. -Sonrise Music Festival is an annual celebration of positive and alternative music.

Learning to play an instrument can be very rewarding, but there will be times where it is challenging and frustrating. One way to make sure you keep practicing and attending your guitar lessons in Virginia Beach is to get inspired. Being exposed to many different types of music and talking to other guitarists will help you feel enthusiastic and push you to be a better player.

5 Reasons My Guitar Might Be My Best Friend

Music can be a very rewarding experience - and a personal one, at that. Most musicians spend a LOT of time with their instrument, often baring their souls in the form of melodies and lyrics.
