Hi! My name is Josh and I would love to be your acting coach. I am specialized in teaching musical theatre acting but have an extensive knowledge of many acting techniques that I use to help teach students and I even use during my own auditions. I have performed in many different styles of theatre and different stages ranging from a small 30 seat Black-Box theatre all the way to The Royal Opera House in the Palace of Versailles in France. Not only have I worked on stage, but I have also worked behind the table with a major Los Angeles casting director and a prominent talent agency in Los Angeles. I believe that I would be an asset to your training due to the fact that I am still in the musical theatre field and know what major casting directors and other professionals are looking for in performers. Shoot me a message and let's get to work!

About Joshua

Josh received his training at Syracuse University in 2020 where he received a degree in Musical Theatre. As an expert in his field, Josh looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals. Josh’s teaching style is fun, informative, and easy. He is specialized in musical theatre performance b

Classes will be tailored to the student's level of expertise. In general, the student will decide on the direction the classes. Do you want to work on dialects, stage voice, method acting, on-camera techniques, monologues, audition techniques et.al? There are many directions these classes can move, so when I express a "tailored" approach, you can rely on gaining the specific knowledge and skills you seek.

About Randy

I have always been an actor first, it is the craft and discipline in which I hold my advanced degrees; it is my first and eternal love. There really isn't much more one could add to such a claim. Simultaneously I have believed a teacher is born, not bred; and I was born to be in theatre, and now, w

First off. Just want to say that we had to cancel our first session. However, I really like this guy because he had kept it real and set it straight on the reason why the session was cancel. He was very sick that day and he didn't want to be involved with the session not being at 100%. Respect! I wouldn't have wanted him not being at his best either. Takes alot of guts for a person to confess that. I really appreciated the honesty because that explains how passionate Randy is about the craft.
Second of all, when we did our first session, I had to deal with a rough technical patch of trying g to join in for the session. He had no problem helping me with this technical glitch rather than allowing TakeLessons (who I was unable to reach because of matainace issues), to handle it. He helped 5he TakeLessons team. A plus Randy! Though I had to finally use another device to finally join the session, Randy was still willing to have patience and help me with the tech problem.
Lastly, Randy brought a warm feeling to the session and yet sincere. He made me feel welcomed, which opened me up more during this session. This helped because I am uncomfortable with improv but want to get better. He understood this and gave a real honest approach. Also, he informed me that we were going to get a gist of my performance level and work from there. Furthermore, we were going to ease our way into improvement. This gave me alot more balance than other improv classes. He is even willing to give me a little homework that I can practice in prep for next week.
Randy is very encouraging and I enjoyed our first session. I'm exited for next week!

"My daughter just got done with her first lesson with David and the excitement she has is off-the-charts! She was naturally extremely nervous before the lesson, but I was not as David took the time to have a lengthy call with me a few days prior. He provided so much information, answered all of my questions, and provided the calm I needed with starting a new online program for my 15 yo daughter. She’s already preparing for her next lesson."

Who is the Highest Paid Actor? Why Your Paycheck May Not Reflect Your Skill Level

Who is your favorite actor? For the past few years, it’s been Denzel Washington, according to polls. Count me amongst the masses! Denzel Washington is fantastic, and he’s my favorite actor, too. For decades, he’s wowed me with his dramatic prowess. The man even has the acting chops to tackle great theatrical works on Broadway, such as A Raisin in the Sun, and blew the critics away there as well. He’s played a wide variety of roles, portraying men in various time periods and from n …

How to Read & Understand Stage Directions

If you’ve ever been in a play or musical you will be familiar with the term ‘stage directions’. For those who don’t know, stage directions are,  “an instruction in the text of a play, especially one indicating the movement, position, or tone of an actor.” Stage directions can also be instructions for the director, such as the way the stage should be lit or what kind of sound effect could be used.  Stage directions can also tell an actor how to deliver a line— pace of speech, emot …
