I am a professional musician based out of the Washington D.C. area. I am currently a tuba player in The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own."
I believe that having fun, being able to clearly share your musical ideas with others, and being a well-rounded person are an integral to being a musician.
Every student has different goals and desires and I strive to create a specifically tailored course of study with each of my students.
Whether you are just starting out, or are an advanced player, I would be happy to work with you!
Zach joined The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Ceremonial Band in August, 2016. His primary duties include supporting funerals at Arlington National Cemetery as well as wreath laying ceremonies by heads of state and other foreign dignitaries at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, monthly ret

I LOVE music! I also love helping others find music inside themselves! I was fortunate enough to grow up with a voice teacher for a mother and a choral director for a father, parents who also helped others find their love for music.
Music is an excellent way to tell stories and connect to your audience. I would so enjoy the opportunity to share in these experiences with my students, teaching basics in simple vocal production, developing already attained skills, and coaching performance pieces. While I am very serious about music, I fully believe that these sessions should be FUN. No one wants to put real effort into something that feels like a chore!
I aim to challenge my students in a way that is enjoyable for the student, myself, and the future audiences!!
About My Studio Every person is different, from the way they look on the outside to the way they are constructed on the inside. Because of this, I have learned to be flexible when teaching students, knowing that what works for one student may not work for another. My goal in every voice lesson is

I started my singing career at the prestigious Hanns Eissler University in Berlin, Germany where I studied jazz and classical style along with direct training from David Lee Brewer (Beyonce's vocal coach). I also studied advance vocal techniques while working with Daryl Simmons (Babyface's "Silent Partner") on various records and studio projects. I received a "Gold Record" for Pop Music in Europe. I also taught vocals at “JPat Records” (Usher’s mom’s label in Atlanta) under Michi Robinson’s Artist Development Program. My voice clients include beginners, intermediate and notable recording artists. I'm very patient and thorough with my students and try to make the sessions lively but focused as well.

Tanisha is hands down the best vocal coach not only with her knowledge of music and voice but with her willingness to go above and beyond to help her students. She has given me great progress in such a short amount of time, and even takes time out of her day to help me when I need it. Tanisha not only helps build a good singing voice but also gives direction on how to turn it into a career!"
I was accepted into the Berklee College of Music as a Vocal Performance Major. However, my knowledge of theory, arranging, and harmony was nothing close to where it needed to be to succeed in my first semester. I ended my first semester with a 1.9 GPA. For the next semester, I was put on academic probation and was required to meet with a Berklee peer tutor once a week. This is where I met Noah. He was my peer tutor. Within our first session alone, I was immediately relieved that there was SOMEONE out that cared enough to take the time to really teach me everything that I needed to learn about theory, harmony, and arranging. He was extremely patient and kind. Where most students who were in my predicament dreaded to meet with their peer tutors weekly, I looked forward to meeting with Noah. In fact, I called the head of the tutoring department and asked if I could meet with Noah twice a week instead of once a week! Noah didn't hesitate, but instead agreed and we met twice a week! We even met for tutoring sessions when it wasn't required! He literally saved my second semester! I went from completely failing tests two getting A+ on all of my exams! At the end of that semester, I went from a 1.9 GPA to a 3.0 GPA!
Not only is Noah just amazing at everything theory, harmony, and arranging, composing, etc. and an amazing teacher that actually cares about his students, he's also an amazing musician! A multi-instrumentalist at that! I've had the pleasure of seeing him play multiple instruments in multiple styles and genres and he's by far the best musician I've ever come across. I would recommend him to anyone! Really! I'm not just saying this! If there is anyone you should be talking to or learning from in regards to all things music, Noah is the guy to go to!
THANK YOU NOAH!!!"
Are Hanon exercises really effective at teaching piano students? Below, piano teacher James F. shares five reasons why he believes Hanon exercises aren't as useful as many think... A lot of piano teachers swear by the old familiar Hanon exercises as a great way of teaching technique to their students. I strongly disagree. I’m familiar with a lot of different ways of developing piano technique, and I think that Hanon is among the least efficient. Why? Below I’ve provided fiv …
