Music lessons should be fun, encouraging and full of music that you love. They are an opportunity to learn something new, show your improvement, and receive correction, encouragement and praise. Students and instructors should play together frequently throughout and the time should be balanced with theory, technique and exercises, sight-reading, and performance and seasoned with introductions to a variety of music and styles. I like to encourage students to play because they love to play and to find the music that is an integral part of their soul, then to share that with others through performance. What do you want to do with or gain from your music? We will work toward your goals.

I met Nicole through my church. I remember watching her work with the children’s choir after a service one Sunday. She was amazing to watch. She was teaching them a song from the movie Moana. The song was in a different language and very difficult to learn in my opinion. It was “Foa’i-We Know The Way”. This is when I first saw Nicole’s gift. She was engaging, funny, clear, and happy, and I could just feel the love that the children had for her and that she had for them. She brought her whole wonderful self to that moment in time with them and she was amazing. They eventually performed that song for the church during a service and it was beautiful.
I have, since that time, joined the church choir where Nicole is now the music director and I have taken private voice lessons from her. She is the biggest reason that I have begun experiencing music again in a deep and meaningful way. I hadn’t sung for anyone in more than 30 years. That moment of seeing Nicole in her element, with the kids and with the music, gave me the courage to try something that I used to love to do, sing. I am grateful to her for all her talent and patience, and compassion, and caring and sensitivity as well as her kind honesty and her magical way of bringing her unique self to what she loves. She gives so much in her lessons and directing and it is clear that she loves doing what she does. She is gifted with an ability to gently bring out the hidden tender insides of people with humor and fun and love and music.
So, if you are wondering if she is worth the price of a lesson, I’d have to say, no. She is worth much more than that, but a lesson is a good place to start.”

Even more importantly, Marco is a spectacular teacher. He is a student of the voice and knows more about the anatomy of singing than anyone I've ever met. He can describe where you should place your sound, pinpoint how your body is affecting your voice, and immediately show you several exercises that target your specific challenge spots.
Marco has also helped me improve so much as a performer and musician; he has challenged me to sing songs that are slightly out of my comfort zone and given me countless tips on how to pay homage to an artist when covering them while still making the song my own. Finally, he has also helped me develop my own musical style as a cover artist and original artist."

My 10 year old son has about 5 lessons under his belt now. The lessons are fun, focused, and strategically improving his skills. I am very impressed with how the lessons are paced and the amount of material that is covered. Michael is super kid-friendly and is patient. The homework is consistent and appropriate."

Guitar books can be a great help for kids who are interested in guitar lessons. Guitar teacher Matthew K. shares five of his favorite guitar books for younger students... The guitar is an instrument that has to be learned by doing. During my experience as a guitar teacher, I've found it essential to use a book for kids ages six to ten. Books can keep the student on track, but should not be the only teaching method used. It's important to keep lessons fun and interesting with songs and riffs t …
