B Mus from U of U 1975. M Mus Ed from Boston U 2008. Retired Orchestra Director and teacher (grades 5 - 12) Tooele HS & Jr HS + elementary program. Former Utah State Fiddle Champion. Past affiliation with Utah Oldtime Fiddlers.
I still love helping students reach their musical potential. I am currently directing the Salt Lake Valley New Horizons Orchestra (a group dedicated to helping older beginners and intermediates have fun while improving their music skills).
I offer a personalized approach, and I am able to tailor materials to best serve an individual student's needs. I am experienced at starting beginners, and also adept with intermediate students.
For special needs students I would need someone familiar with the student's needs to attend lessons with the student.

About Kait
Kait K. has been teaching singers of all ages and abilities since 1997. She has taught in public schools, colleges and universities and privately in San Diego & Los Angeles, CA and Salt Lake City, UT. She has owned and operated The Performer Studio (a production company for high quality vocal productions) since 1997 and is the director of Salt Lake Singers Academy.

As a teacher, Kait's focus with each student is to help them understand both the anatomy and health of their vocal instrument and to help them tap into their very best sound in an engaging and fun way.

Kait: "Every singer has stumbling blocks. It is my passion to help them identify those, understand them and then...shatter them. Singers are complex people with complex instruments, and no matter what our expertise level, the DESIRE to sing is something to be protected an
d nurtured. I value honesty, discipline and detail work in the singing studio. I find those three things, meshed always with a genuine sense of FUN, are the keys to helping singers unlock and develop what makes them unique artists with something to say."

Professionally as a singer, Kait has headlined her own blues band, sung in several cover bands and also performed as a featured lead vocalist alongside John Lee Hooker Jr. (Blues Grammy artist nominee) on his western tour of the U.S. Kait was the lead singer and co-songwriter for the band Light Vizion and co-produced the band's debut album "Looking For An Angel" and can be heard as the solo vocalist on the album "True North" by Tristan Moore. She is currently a freelance vocalist in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has sung lead and solo in a large variety of venues, including Capitol Theatre, Abravanel Hall, Rose Wagner (Jeanne Wagner Stage) and several local clubs and restaurants as well as festivals and outdoor concerts including the annual Scarecrow Festival and the Brown Bag Concert Series and Furry Fiesta Fundraiser! While in Los Angeles, Kait performed in numerous clubs and blues music venues, including The Brown Derby, The Blue Cafe and BB Kings in Hollywood. She has also worked as a professional singer for several years in the Los Angeles Music Industry where she performed in several bands and worked as an in demand "session" singer (someone people hire to come in and quickly record vocals for various professional and experimental projects).

Kait's education as a singing performer includes a B.F.A. from the Actor Training Program at the University of Utah, an M.F.A. in Musical Theatre Performance from San Diego State University plus 5 years post-grad study in Los Angeles training in voice with world master voice teacher, Edward Sayegh.

In 2004 Kait returned to her roots in Salt Lake City, UT to continue both her singing and teaching career. She continues to write, arrange and record as a freelance singer, and has appeared as the featured vocalist with groups like Children's Dance Theatre and Ririe-Woodbury as well as other local blues and rock bands.

Kait: "My goal with each student is to help them to become the very best they can be as singing performers. But in addition, I aim to lift their spirit during the time they spend here, so that when they leave for the day, after the work they've done, they feel better, more inspired, more empowered and more confident and driven than they did when they arrived at my door. Teaching and watching my students evolve as both artists and people is thrilling! I have the honor of watching them find themselves through music while they build truly lifelong friendships with the performing peers they meet in the classes and performances they participate in here...they end up finding some of their 'kindred spirits' in life here, and that is something that is priceless as an artist."

About Henrik
Hello my name is Henrik! I have been playing the saxophone ever since I first picked one up in grade school. I consider myself a goofy individual who takes my instrument very seriously. I have been teaching private students for about eight years. I am currently getting my degree in Saxophone Performance from BYU. I love it when my students learn to have fun while practicing and gain confidence in performing. No matter your schedule or location, I am determined to make a difference and help people improve. I have a flexible class schedule that allows you to pick a time that works best for you.

I find it most successful to prepare a lesson for each student before hand, rather than going over the same thing with every one of them. You can expect a well rounded range of exercises and practice techniques. From motif development, t
une memorization and progressive patterns, to theory studies, music analyzation and playing along with the great recordings with the pros.

About Aubrey
I am 23 years old and have been married for almost a year now! I not only play piano but a little bit of guitar as well. I taught myself how to play guitar, leading to the fact that I play a lot by ear but also by sight. Of course, I play both ways. I am very empathetic and love serving and helping others!

I have been playing piano for 15 years now. It is my passion. During my learning as a student it wasn't too hard for me to learn piano because I absolutely loved it and practicing was something I looked forward to. But, there were definitely things about my learning that I wish were different that would have made learning even better! I have 15 years of experience as a student that helps me as a teacher relate. I am able to teach towards the students needs. I look back at my experience as a student and the things I wish were done di
fferently I am able to apply to my own teaching. This way the students get the absolute best learning with the time they are given. I don't just follow a lesson plan but I teach towards the students needs. I don't move on unless that student understands every aspect of the basics and what we are working on.
I absolutely love teaching and I look forward to what the future holds!

I have a BA in Classical Performance, a BA in Jazz Performance and a BA in Buisness. I had almost completed a Master’s Degree in Performance when a performance opportunity took me away from school and on the road tour the U.S. This is currently what I am and have been doing for the last 10 years. And it has been an amazing experience.
I currently play in several bands, Classic Swing Jazz, Avant Garde Jazz, Jam Band, 70’s Fusion, Cajun/Zydeco, Classical and last but not least Country.
The country project has had much success over the years performing for multiple 20,000 people concerts and touring the US. Their freshman single hit 50 on the Country radio charts and sophomore single that has just been released to much praise and is looking to climb even higher.
The original jazz project that is made up of members original comp
ositions has been very successful locally playing all of the largest city events such as The Utah Arts Festival for several years in a row.
Also performed in 4 musicals as a pit musician, recorded several albums and asked to do session work for studios nation wide. I compose my own classical and jazz music and regularly perform them.

I've been taking lessons with Liz for almost 10 years and have loved everything about it. I tried taking other music lessons over the years but nothing stuck quite like violin. Liz is a lot of fun, experienced, educated greatly in music, and most important for me, always constructive but never harsh. With Liz i've learned songs from a variety of genres and even learned to make arrangements of my own. Liz is great with all ages and all talent levels. 10/10 would recommend!

Liz is a wonderful music teacher who is able to teach classical and non-classical music in a way that makes it all fun. She teaches you not only how to play music, but also how to create and arrange it. She finds pieces she knows you'll be able to play, and pushes you to be a better musician.

I am a professionally trained vocalist and have been singing for over 15 years. I attended school at Brigham Young University studying vocal music and music education. I am currently working as the Choral Director at Herriman High School and have previously taught private lessons and taught as the Music Teacher at Utah International Charter School.

I studied primarily classical voice but that created a strong foundation to sing all genres of music including pop, broadway, etc. I have performed in many musical theatre productions and operas as well as performed as a soloist for a variety of occasions. I also currently sing with Cantorum Chamber Singers, a group that performs a wide variety of music for many diverse audiences.

I have a strong foundation of music theory and music composition and can help fortify that area of music as w
