About JoAnne
B Mus from U of U 1975. M Mus Ed from Boston U 2008. Retired Orchestra Director and teacher (grades 5 - 12) Tooele HS & Jr HS + elementary program. Former Utah State Fiddle Champion. Past affiliation with Utah Oldtime Fiddlers.
I still love helping students reach their musical potential. I am currently directing the Salt Lake Valley New Horizons Orchestra (a group dedicated to helping older beginners and intermediates have fun while improving their music skills).
I offer a personalized approach, and I am able to tailor materials to best serve an individual student's needs. I am experienced at starting beginners, and also adept with intermediate students.
For special needs students I would need someone familiar with the student's needs to attend lessons with the student.

About Ryan
As a guitar teacher, my goal is to help students be able to grow their passion for music and attain the skills needed to express themselves musically.

There are so many methods of learning to play the guitar that it can be overwhelming knowing where to start.

I have been playing guitar for over 15 years and have studied with many amazing music teachers which have helped shape my methods of teaching.

Lessons are designed to help students not only learn to play the songs they love, but learn how those songs were built and how they can pull the songs apart and create something of their own.

A few of the skills student will learn include:
- Proper technique
- Chords, how they are built
- Scales and how to use them
- Ear training
- Sight reading/guitar tablature
- Fingerpicking
- Rhythmic notation
- Strum patterns
- Pickin
g techniques
- Intervals
- Triads and their inversions
- Arpeggios

I teach students of all age and experience levels!

Ryan cares to make the lessons personal for what I need in my learning of guitar. Other teachers just show up, open a book, and see what you got. I feel that Ryan prepares lessons so that I get the most out of them.

About Bobby
I am a drummer from Salt Lake City, Utah. I have worked with many bands from Utah and have recorded with artists all over the Western coast of the U.S. I graduated in 2014 from Westminster College with a minor in Orchestral Percussion.

I can teach students how to read drum sheet music, learn songs, compose their own beats, keep the rhythm of the song, rudiments, and help students play in odd time signatures.

I am currently looking to teach beginner and intermediate students of any age range. I teach my clients in my creative and comfortable home in Sugarhouse, Utah.

Some of the genres of music I regularly teach are Rock, Indie, Hard Rock, Funk, R&B, Country, Pop and Metal.

Bobby's a very enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable drummer who also knows how to teach well. Often times musicians don't always know how to teach their craft, talented as they may be, but Bobby certainly knows both how to play and how to teach. I'd recommend him to anyone wanting to learn or brush up on their drumming skills.

Bobby has a wealth of knowledge and passion about music and can help you learn how to play your favorite songs on drums from any genre (alternative, indie, pop, hip-hop, jazz, classic rock, dance and more). 2 months ago, I knew nothing about drums, and in just 9 lessons so far I can now play a handful of songs and grooves. I learn so much each lesson, and Bobby does everything he can to help me succeed. I highly recommend Bobby.

About Maddie
Hello there!
I can’t wait to get started with you in our lessons together. I really do enjoy teaching and helping others improve. I have been playing the flute since I was about the age of nine and I just recently graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Music (I loved every minute of it). Throughout my life I have had the opportunity to teach and learn from my peers and other students, and help them reach their goals! I have also really enjoyed having the opportunity to perform with various groups as well as individually throughout my musical career. Performing is something that I cherish as a flutist! Something I’ve always really focused on as a student and a teacher is tone—tone is the very first thing that an audience will notice about your playing as a flutist, so it’s always worth improving! Along with tone comes musicality and fluid t
echnique. These two aspects of playing are the next stepping stones to the foundation of a strong tone. I would love the chance to get to know you and become more acquainted!

About Brandon
I am a professional Saxophone, Clarinet, and Flute player. I have been composing my own music for video games and short films, and working as a mixing engineer for a couple years now, just really exploring many different aspects of music. I have a degree from Utah Valley University in Commercial Music, and spent most of that degree on the performance aspect of music.

My Saxophone students can expect some of the fun and some of the practical. We will be working on articulation, tone production, intonation, breathing, different forms of vibrato and many other aspects of control over the saxophone while learning songs that you as the student want to learn.

I have been taking piano lessons for 15 years, and turning around and teaching the techniques and abilities to my students have been really fun! We work on the fundamentals, but we
focus on learning cool songs and do things that few other instruments can do.

I have a lot of fun with music theory. I try to be practical in what students need to know, but can teach much more. I have a jazz background and can teach jazz theory, including comping and improvisation.

Brandon is fantastic. I don't know that he's ever given me a word of bad advice, and has been a HUGE help in getting my career as a producer and narrator off the ground. He's incredibly knowledgeable and skillful, and my experiences in both hiring him and learning from him have been absolutely fantastic. I would heartily recommend him!

Hi there! My name is Taylor and I like to party! I've been playing guitar for as long as I can remember and the best word to describe playing guitar is a party! Throughout my 10+ years of experience, I've learned that ANYONE can have fun playing guitar.

Anyone who truly wants to can play guitar. It fits every mood! Hyped up? Play Guitar. Feeling down? Play Guitar. In Love? Play Guitar. No matter how I feel, playing guitar always helps and writing songs help me express how I feel in a way nothing else can!

I absolutely love being a guitar teacher! Beyond helping you learn how to learn the most beautiful instrument, I love to get to know new people like you and become friends with musically passionate people!

Honestly, I already know we will both be amazing friends and learn and write some incredible music!

I have been teaching guitar for over 11 years and have experience with playing in bands live on stage and recording music in recording studios. I am a certified audio engineer and understand what it takes to get the best performance and sound quality of each student I teach. While I ensure that we learn the foundations of music and guitar playing, I still want to make the experience fun by learning different techniques and by adapting lessons around songs and music that my students WANT to play! I find that students are more likely to stick with it and progress if they are playing songs that excite them! I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and I have an MBA from Western Governor's University. I currently work as a project manager for a software company, so I know how to manage projects, inc
luding guitar lessons, and I work very well with others. And my family will probably tell you that I can be quite the goofball at times!

The 6 Best Reasons for Adults to Take Piano Lessons
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." - Pablo Picasso According to the 2008 NAMM Global Report on Music, 82% of adults who don't play a musical instrument wish they did. It's a funny thing for a musician like me to meet different people--a physician or an attorney, for example--and hear her say, "Gee, I always wished that I could do that." On November 11, 2013, the New York Times ran a story about some very interesting neuroscientific studies. O
