I've been performing, teaching and delivering drum clinics around the world for over twenty years. I work with individuals with special needs and I love teaching beginners. I'm an on call, freelance musician in Nashville, TN, where I'm blessed to call home. If you're excited and passionate about learning new things on the drum set thru Take Lessons then let's get together!

About Joseph
Whenever I see a drummer play a little thought bubble pops into my head
"that's where you want to be!".
Since age ten, that's been the move; go on stage, or anywhere there's a drum kit, and play.

I'm a touring, studio drummer, drum teacher maniac who loves sharing new musical ideas. I've studied with Dom Famularo so motivation and technique are in these bones.

With me you'll learn how to really groove on drums. You'll get faster. You'll learn songs. We'll get your fills sounding nice and fresh. And you'll learn to read!
Yes! You can do that too! And it's really fun!

If you're ready for the challenge then take this exciting journey with me and fall in love with playing the drums!

About Rachel
I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm.

I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice and the journey of patience. The process of learning has helped me carve out and cultivate my style of music. It's opened up a lot of doors for me in my life. I've had the honor to play with a lot of great performers and have been lucky enough to tour the U.S. and Canada with festivals and showcases such as Vans Warped Tour, South By Southwest and the Halifax Pop Explosion.I've been the opening act for Carolyn Wonderland, Maria Taylor, Tsunami Bomb, Tilly and the Wall, Basia Bulat, Rise Against, Strike Anywhere. Anathallo, Cursive, Milton Hopki
ns, and Pony Up.

When I have free time I volunteer with the Houston Chapter of Girls Rock Camp to help teach girls empowerment through songwriting and music.

I began teaching as an afterschool job when I was 16. I was homeschooled, so I feel that the experience taught me that everyone learns differently and that there is not just one standardized method to playing music.

My teaching style varies with each student, but the one constant is my ability to make each and every client I encounter completely fall in LOVE with music. It's my super power.

Lesson plans are tailored for your specific needs and to help you achieve your musical goals and aspirations at your desired pace. I enjoy my students and making music with them.

Here is an overview of the lessons that I provide.

Guitar:
Finger Picking, Song Writing, Rhythm, Lead, Scales,Modes & Ear Training.

Songwriting and composition: Learn techniques, how to brain storm and plot your musical story line. This class pairs great with vocal lessons or guitar lessons.

Bass:

Ukulele :
Technique, Intro to Chords, Ear Training, Strumming patterns - Ukulele is one of my favorite classes to teach. You simply can not help but smile when playing this instrument!

Zaid is knowledgeable and dedicated instructor. He has taught my daughter for at least two years who had no experience and I feel that she has progressed faster than I think she would have at any typical music place.
The organization, and structure of the lessons are well planned and easy to follow.

I'll get right to the point. Paul's personality made it extremely easy for me not only to be comfortable but to feel really appreciated. I was fearful that Paul may feel like, "oh great another person who THINKS he has something but can't sing a lick!" I experienced the exact opposite. Within 15 minutes he located what has been my most frustrating issue. I felt like I was already ahead of the game and we hadn't even started yet! Paul has the rare balance of a sense of humor and still following an agenda to meet my goal. Thanks to Paul I really feel like I can, and WILL reach all my goals. AND enjoy the journey to them!! Can't wait for the next lesson!

Over 10 years playing drums and percussion
5 years of teaching experience

About Farrokh
I have been playing guitar, piano, bass, ukulele and drums for 11 years now (teaching for 7 years - Acoustic & Electric). As a child I started playing pop music, then I became obsessed with classic rock music (Guns & Roses, Iron Maiden, ACDC, etc). Soon after I started playing a lot of Modern Rock and Metal music. Then in my 20's I started to play blues and jazz as a means to learn advanced concepts in music and fell in love with the guitar all over again. At the age of 21 I went to Berklee College of Music where I studied composition and music production for four years.
I am confident that I have the skills and resources to teach anyone from a beginner to an advanced musician.
