My approach to teaching my students how to sing is to make sure they feel comfortable each moment of the way while implementing challenges that will allow them to grow as artist! I give my students the option to pick a song of their choice that they would like to work on and then I will pick a song for them that I feel will help them meet theirs goals as singers!

About Keanon
I love everything about teaching! I love music; it is my life. I sleep, breathe and dream music. I am a Columbia University Chicago graduate; I graduated with a degree in Music with a concentration in Classical Voice. I have performed in numerous operas and musicals, as well as, sung on Gospel Cruises all around the world. In my eyes, the student is the main focus so whatever issues, concerns or request the student may have I will treat them with priority. I am all about strengthening the natural born talent and making my students the best vocalist they can be. I'm here to serve the students and that is what I will do until they are confident in their gift...music.

*** Lesson Details ***
I take music very seriously but at the same time I like my lessons to be fun and a joyous experience. I am very patient and helpful with any strugg
les that may seem too hard to the student. I will start my students off with the basic vocal warm ups and then move on to material that they would like to cover and if so the student doesn't have material to cover, I will present them with material. Being a singer is not easy at all, so I will challenge my students by giving exercises that challenge them to sing for proficient. I will also bring in material that is brand new and ask the students questions about the piece. The student is in the lesson to learn everything about music, so any type of material that I feel will benefit them and help them move closer to their goal, I will definitely present to them. After 3 to 6 months students will be able to sing in the 3 minor keys and the major key. The student will also have knowledge and know how to sing at least 3 different modes. The singer will know how to read basic sheet music and perform it with solfege. The singer will also have 4 songs of my choice or their choice mastered and ready to perform in front of an audience. Lastly, the singer will have knowledge of proper breath control while performing, usage of a microphone, and intonation.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano/ Keyboard
Music Stand
Water

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical, gospel and R and B singing.

Keanon is a GREAT teacher/artist/musician/mentor

I've been working with Keanon for almost a year now. Aside from being an amazing vocalist himself, he does everything he can to help students reach their full potential and find their voice. He makes lessons fun while constantly keeping you challenged. There's always encouragement from him to strive to be better, which can really bring the best out of singers. Whether you're simply singing for hobby, performing for shows/auditions, or ready to record, Keanon has something to offer to any aspiring musician. He has a passion and love for music and understands it's a gift that must be shared with the world.

Keanon did a great job with catering to each singer's style in the group workshop. He is highly knowledgeable about singing and gives great pointers to make your song sound better. I highly recommend a vocal session with him if you plan singing for an audition, a performance, or if you just want to sing for fun!

A voice is as unique as a thumbprint! My young singers learn how to use their developing voices in a healthful way to bring out their own beautiful, vibrant sound. We explore pieces that are appropriate to their level of development across genres (folk, musical theater, classical, Christian, and more). We also develop their music literacy and basic keyboard skills to give them the tools to learn music on their own. We also learn about audition and performance etiquette, acting, and stage movement and presence.

About Lauren
Hello! My name is Lauren S., and I am excited to bring out the musician in you!

We have all sorts creating and learning—children and adults in their first lessons, teens and preteens performing and competing, working professionals looking for a creative love, and retirees coming back to an instrument from many years before. We have parents & children, siblings, and friends who learn and love to make music together!

Whether you're searching for yourself or your child, I would love to invite you to Musical Life—my beautiful in-home studio—and help you meet your musical goals.

We focus on developing true artistry and giving them the fundamental tools to be able to play and create various styles of music including classical, musical theater, folk, contemporary, Christian, and more.

We play from the very first lesson and learn o
ther concepts such as music theory, literacy, and technique in subsequent lessons.

My students are involved in school & community ensembles, school & community theater, and district contests. I support and seek out these opportunities according to their interests.

Please send me a note! I can't wait to get started.

I sought Gabriels assistance in preparing me for an upcoming vocal Audition and to help me work out the kinks of whatever bad habits i may have deveoped over the summer. He himself has an amazing voice and charming personality. It helps to have an instructor that has been through auditions to give you pointers. He has an amazing ear as well, so he catches things—like if you tighten up on a note—and is quick to correct you. Each class i have walked away learning something new, and having something previously learned reinforced. He is well worth the time and money. Very professional.

I provide basic versatile vocal coaching for children, teens, and adults.

About Michelle
I took private music lessons (piano and voice) until I graduated from high school, and gained experience as a performer and accompanist. I obtained a regular role playing at our church when I was in the 7th grade, and became a regular accompanist for the school choir and various community activities. I was the pianist/music director in each high school drama production and gained experience working with an orchestra and singing in and directing the choir.

I continued as an accompanist and vocalist in college. Since college, I have provided music for weddings and events.

I love to share music with others. Music is happiness! It brings people together and aids development for children. It's truly enjoyable for me to pass along the love of music to my students.

Working together we will develop the skills required to hone your craft and help you reach your full potential as a singer. I believe it is never too early or too late to study voice. If you are looking to prepare for auditions and/or performances, we will work on "acting the song" and interpretation as well!

About CJ
My name is CJ I have been singing since I was in elementary school. I started singing in church choirs until the age of 11. Then I began to sing with a 7x gospel recording artist for 9 years by the name of Kathy Horry. She was a secular singer for some years and moved over to gospel. She is a vocal teacher and a piano teacher. I traveled with her and got all my training from her. I then became assistant director over the youth choir and then I moved locations and was Director over the entire music department at Gateway River Church for awhile. I taught the musicians and singers. I trained a drummer. I began to teach at different locations and organizations quite often with a variety of genres of music. My favorites are. Gospel,Hip Hop and Country. Weird combo but I love those 3. Lol. I am connected to many producers here in the St.louis a
