A practical fun approach to learning how to learn, play and practice. I teach students the fundamentals of music while learning how to play the piano and learn the music they love. I'm also willing to travel further than the 25 mile radius in Connecticut and New York.

About Brian

I'm an experienced teacher with a background as a full time performing musician. Music was a big part of my life from an early age and I've stuck with it pursuing it as a career path. I graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Studio Music and Jazz Performance and since have been t

I've been working with Brian for four months now and have made excellent progress on guitar. Brian quickly adjusted to my experience level and has done an outstanding job of removing long-standing bad habits and reinforcing the good ones. He has a fresh approach which ensures students don't get bored and, best of all, instills confidence and a good stage presence. I'm on my way to being a better guitar player but more importantly, a better musician. I recommend Brian without reservation.

Brian has been great , he patiently provides simple tangible explanations for both guitar play and music theory. He is building a solid foundation for my musical growth and more importantly supporting and enhancing my love of music. I give Brian my highest recommendation, he's a natural teacher

Piano should be fun! I've taught for 10 years all ages and abilities. We choose songs that student is interested in a. Any genre that he/she is passionate about. I include some exercises and theory based around the songs we are working on. This makes it easier to memorize , read and understand music. It is like reading notes as words rather than a jumble of dots. I love jazz and classical and have toured domestically/internationally with pop acts.

About David

Classical, Jazz, Pop, R&B. Anything you are interested in! I include a variety of activities during the lesson that help keep it engaging and develop a complete understanding of the piece. This includes some light ear training, theory and exercises which can all be tapered to ability and repertoire

"As an over 50 student who use to be somewhat decent at playing the piano 30 years ago, I was fairly nervous about starting up again, as well as somewhat skeptical that lessons would really help. But after a few months with Nathan I can say that they are definitely helping and I feel lucky to have found him. Nathan is not only knowledgeable but has an excellent instinct regarding what I need in an instructor. I feel confident he would be able to adapt his style to any type of student of any age range or ability level."

"As a former mentor of Sara's, I know she is a great teacher! She has been involved with music since she was 5, when she began playing piano. She added violin when she turned 7 and continued with both throughout her childhood and into her adult life.. She has wonderful orchestral experience as well as sacred/religious music. Because of her love for music, she is thrilled to be able to open young children’s eyes and minds to the joys found in music."

"Learning to play the piano was a lifelong dream of mine. I’ve been taking lessons from Janet now for five years. As an “adult” student starting from scratch, I was concerned that I would never really be able to understand music or become truly competent. When I look back to where I started from and how far I’ve come, I’m amazed. Janet is truly a genius at teaching. She makes difficult concepts easy to understand. And she truly understands the challenges of the adult learner. But learning is always enjoyable, never stressful. I look forward to my lessons and even my at-home practicing sessions. It’s become a kind of therapy for me! I would recommend Janet and the Fine Arts Music School to any who is serious about learning to play the piano.

"Our daughter is taking lessons with Doniell and after every lesson is thrilled to share her experiences. Doniell has been exceedingly accomodating of our schedule, making it absolutely pleasant to work with her. We are a homeschool family and she offered time outside of evening hours. We had several illnesses and issues with travel during the snow this past winter and she has always been understanding and patient with rescheduling. Our daughter is very enthusiastic about piano and many things in life, we are thankful we have Doniell to guide her as she continues to develop a passion for music."

"I wish I had half the energy and enthusiasm that Randy had; both for music and life. He has been teaching our daughter for a little less than a year now, and she is flourishing. His approach is not for everyone. If you're looking for a very traditional, classical teacher, that's as strict as a nun with no personality, then Randy's not for you. He has the talent and education chops to teach the classical method, but you get so much more when he opens up to his approach.

He makes our daughter feel empowered to try new things and not give up. Creativity and exploration over perfectionism and memorization.

I highly recommend Randy, but only if you want to learn music and have fun."
