*** Lesson Details *** Catered to each individual and very informative.
*** Studio Equipment *** Keyboard/Piano.
*** Specialties *** With my expert guidance, I can bring your voice to a higher level whether you are a beginner or professional. I al
so specialize with singers that have a vocal trauma and can aid in the recovery/repair of the voice.
I believe in the extraordinary power of music to communicate, to inspire and, often, to heal. That belief inspires all my work.
My goal is to help you find the power to express express through singing your unique self. It doesn't matter whether your voice is professional quality or whether it's even "good" in the conventional sense. It's YOUR voice. It has its own sound and characteristics, its own particular beauty, and the world needs to hear you!
Whether you want to be a professional or audition for your school musical, NYSSMA, All-State chorus, college and conservatory, or whether you just want to have fun and hit those high notes in the shower, I would love to help you.
I'm a classically trained leading soprano who has had the great good fortune to sing masterpieces with such companies as the Caramoor Music Festival, Glim
merglass Opera and the Aspen Music Festival. I also have undergraduate and master's degrees from Brown University and the Manhattan School of Music.
But don't let the fact that I'm an "opera singer" give you the wrong idea. Yes, strict classical training gives me in-depth understanding of how the human voice works, but I love and teach music of all genres. My students include professional opera singers, yes, but also rock and Broadway-style singers, college and conservatory students, teenagers singing in their school musicals, doing All-State chorus, or preparing for NYSSMA, as well as adults who are taking voice for the love of singing, the fun of the challenge and so they can join their local chorus or sound great on karaoke night.
Above all, the most important qualities I offer as a teacher are the simple human ones: understanding, patience, imagination, kindness, enthusiasm, respectfulness and absolute commitment to helping you meet your vocal goals.
*** Lesson Details ***
I tailor my lessons to each singer's particular interests, goals and challenges. Some students thrive with a highly technical approach; some thrive in a less formal, more supportive environment; most singers do best with an approach that mixes the two. The important thing to know is that you will receive lessons that are specifically tailored to you. There's no single template.
*** Specialties ***
For advanced classical singers I have a great depth of experience and wide knowledge of oratorio, opera, German lied and French, English and American art songs. I also have a specialized background in "performance practice" baroque and classical vocal ornamentation.
I am not a singer, but Nancy was able to make me feel at ease and give me instructions to bring a voice out of me. Very personable and professional, she has many different ideas and exercises to allow a voice to develop. I had one other voice teacher who never even had me learn a song. Nancy is a very capable and valuable teacher. I really can’t recommend her enough!

Nancy is great to work with. She really engages our daughter. Our 10 year old is always happy after her lesson. Nancy also is a clear communicator both with parents and our daughter, so we always know what is going on, and how things are working.

As a graduate of the Juilliard School and having performed worldwide, I want to share how fun, healthy and effective sing is possible with consistence and informed work! No matter your goals, lets build on the skills you already poses and confidence in your own abilities. Let's sing!
The key to great singing is enthusiasm, focus and some hard work. I have worked with students of all ages and my goal is to get you singing the right way and take you from shower diva to confident performer.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME:
As a professional singer and graduate of The Juilliard Sch
ool and working Opera singer, I have had the great fortune of training and performing with some of the best in the business.
With performances at Carnegie Hall and with major orchestras such as the Toronto, Vancouver and Seattle Symphonies and around the world, I feel this gives me a unique perspective on the challenges and successes that are possible with a fun, yet focused and healthy technique based approach. Whether a beginners, intermediate or advanced singers looking to hone your skills in musical theatre classical, jazz and even pop voice.
My goal is a well rounded, relaxed yet supported vocal tone with a focus on breath, and feeling rather than by ear. This ensures that no matter what the repertoire, the situation, or the acoustics of the room, you are always focused on healthy, articulate and projected singing.
Jonathan is a fantastic teacher! Having little prior singing experience, he made me feel at ease and comfortable starting out. He also really listened to my specific goals and what I was looking to achieve with these lessons and tailored the lesson to my individual needs. I would easily recommend Jonathan to anyone looking to work on their singing technique and confidence!

Ms. Candida is the best teacher ever!!! My son is 6 years old and very hard to handle but Ms. Candida is always so caring and patient with him and my son loves Ms. Candida's class very much and learn A LOT from her! Really amazing teacher!! :)
October 1, 2019
We absolutely love Candida. She seems to be able to connect to my 8 years old which I constantly have to push to practice, so and I cannot ask for more honestly. I'm just happy he's so excited to go to the class. Worth every $ and trust me I just moved in NYC and the lessons are double the price than in NJ.
My name is Kyla and I am currently a working actress and substitute teacher. I am on a webseries that just won a pilot competition, I just wrapped a play and start rehearsals for another one in June, and I have done a number of other live shows, short films, and webseries. I have taught theater, I substitute teach, currently, and I have babysat and tutored. I am also an alumni of the University of Southern California (BA) - one of the top universities in the US with one of the best theater (and film) schools! I love teaching, especially the arts, and I love to help someone understand something better and to feel more confidently about a subject or skill. I am excited to meet you all and get started!
The teacher was able to discern my exact needs, and then focus on those, and create in-the-moment scenes to energize my abilities as well as stimulate my own ideas in the directions necessary for my development.
January 5, 2019
Although Kyla is very nice and I could see her being a good acting teacher there were a-lot of issues. Late almost every-time and often seemed frazzled or caught off guard for my lesson. She was helpful with her acting technics for the first couple of lessons once we got into it, but then I took a week off for a vacation. She bumped the prices double the cost and did not inform me as a student. When I came back and was ready to purchase my next set, that we had already discussed a date and time, I noticed the price increase and questioned her. It was difficult for me to understand why she did not inform her current students of a price increase (and a big one at that). I was very clear with her in pervious lessons where I stood financially and that this was an investment already. Although she isn't an "expensive" teacher being a college student made this transition difficult. I was able to look past some of the other issues but the miscommunication between students was a NO WAY for me. Unfortunately, although she has potential as a good teacher she did not handle my lessons professionally.
All ages are welcome. I am an experienced musician and educator with a B.M dual degree in Jazz Composition and Performance from Berklee College of Music, as well as a Master of Music Theory and Composition Degree in Scoring for Film and Multimedia from New York University.
I encourage learning with creativity and curiosity, which makes the lessons both fun and productive. I mainly teach voice, piano, music theory and composition lessons for all ages.
Besides these subjects, I also give lessons for ABRSM exam prep, college-bound musician prep, music theory placement exam, music history placement exam, ear training, arranging, orchestration, counterpoint, classical harmony, jazz harmony, Logic Pro, Sibelius and Pro Tools.
Formerly, I taught voice at City Music Mentoring Program in Boston, and worked as a music tutor at Berklee Coll
ege of Music Learning Center for subjects such as harmony, ear training, arranging and counterpoint. As a music tutor, I was responsible for helping students, who were having trouble, advance in these subjects.
Along with teaching, I continue working as a composer and performer for a variety of local and remote projects ranging from music for film to concert music for jazz orchestra.
Please let me know if you have any questions, Looking forward to working with you!
She was the great teacher for my son. She has helped my son to build up strong foundation on voice. She is kind and pleasant as well!

My 6yr old just took his first lesson and is hooked. Gigi is very sweet and stirred up an excitement in him. My son definitely liked the "idea" of learning the piano but is now confidant and actually writing his first song! Who knew, 5 notes and you can become a composer! BRAVO GIGI:)
I am a tap dance musician, writer, and visual artist. My performance credits include Thomas Marek's show NOLA, the sound art/tap performance Homöostep, the Tap Ahead Festival, and Daniel Luka's T.A.P. My current main project is Neosole, which explores tap as a music instrument, as a full member of the rhythm section, not just soloing as a gimmick on top of the music, but being fully integrated, comping and providing a foundation for the musical context. I have been invited to teach at renowned facilities such as tanzhaus nrw, tap club, and Rebeltanz, and to be a tap dancer in residence at Thomas Marek's Studio Footprints. My artistic works have been featured in publications such as Average Art, The Tap Love Tour Podcast, What Moves You, and Not Random Art. I first started tap dancing at the age of 10 under the direction of my Mom.
From then on, I was influenced by many different teachers and mentors, such as Barbara Duffy, Sebastian Weber, Pia Neises, Derick Grant, Sarah Petronio, and Heather Cornell, to only name a few. I graduated from the tap dance apprenticeship S.O.N.T.I. with magna cum laude. I consider myself a musician, and the tap shoes are my instrument. My style is deeply rooted in the aesthetic of jazz music and heavily shaped by playing in numerous jam sessions around Europe and New York City, however, my art transcends the boundaries of genres. It is merely a tool to create the most genuine and sophisticated expression possible. A catalyst to explore art as an extension of the human experience. I call myself a tap dance musician because neither dance nor music could exist without the other. However, I don't move to look a certain way, I move to sound a certain way.
"Not only is Eliza a certified teacher, but she is very insightful and genuinely cares about your goals. She has given great tips and suggestions to help m
e improve both in and out of her class.
Since I started taking lessons with her about 5 months ago, I've seen a lot of improvement. She makes sure that you work hard every single class and she doesn't let you get away with not doing your best. Also, she has been working with me on fixing the bad habits I never knew I had before she pointed them out. Moreover, she is very observant and tailors each class to work on the things she sees you struggling with, even if you don't realize it yourself that you are having trouble. Eliza has taught me so much and I'm sure that anyone would benefit from taking her class."
"The teacher was able to discern my exact needs, and then focus on those, and create in-the-moment scenes to energize my abilities as well as stimulate my
own ideas in the directions necessary for my development."
"She's a wonderful teacher!"
"David is a "one-of-a-kind" Acting Coach! I have been a professional in the industry for the last 10 years, and I attribute most of my success to David. Da
vid encouraged me to lean into my own interferences and self-consciousness in terms of acting, in order to get more comfortable with the unknown and my fears. I attribute David to my success because through this classes I was able to gain the rarest gift any acting teacher can give their student: confidence. I am a braver artist, a more present actor, and even a better person thanks to David's classes. Not only did David influence me as an actor/artist, I use his lessons every day when I teach my own Acting Classes in Chicago. I highly recommend him."
"Excellent instructor so far! :)"
"Tamika helped prepare me as a model under her set TYT Productions in the Fashion Show called "Fashion Meets Hip Hop". This was my first time modeling in a
fashion show and she helped me to feel comfortable and confident as I walked the runway. She worked hard preparing other models that worked alongside me that were under her set as well. She picked out our outfits and did a great job getting us ready for the show. We did a great job representing her in the fashion show. I look forward to working with her in the future."
"I am a working professional actor in NYC, have been for years. Mostly theater, but I want to do more television. Julia coached me on my audition for a o
ne-day guest star role on The Good Wife, and I booked the job! She is fantastic--very practical and knowledgable, but also very affirming and enthusiastic. She helped me have the confidence to go into the audition room and do my best without the usual self-sabotage. I highly recommend Julia as a coach!"
"Kathryn is an amazing teacher! I've been working with her for nearly a year now. At first I was hesitant doing classes online, but I don't regret taking t
he leap. I've definitely improved my acting skills in the months we've been working together; she gives great feedback and really cares about her students, not ONLY in the way of their acting skills. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to get into acting. I started out knowing nothing and I can say 100% that what I know now is largely in part of Kathryn!"
"Dana is great! She has established great rapport with my daughter and provides insight and advice while also coaching her with her acting skills. She is
also helpful to us in acquiring what we need to pursue things on our agenda."
